Hook and Eye was an upgraded tailor on Winter Solstice. It was erected in November 2003.
Hook and Eye was initially owned and run by Artemis. After the initial shop auctions on Midnight Ocean, Cleaver made the decision to rent out a number of shoppes for short time periods, including Hook and Eye. The Card Sharks, who had been unsuccessful bidders in the shoppe auctions, were selected to run the tailor. They took over the shop on November 23, 2003, for an initial period of one month at 45,000 PoE rental, which was later extended an additional month.
In January 2004, there were further shoppe auctions on the island which did not include Hook and Eye. The shoppe was temporarily closed while uncertainty remained. However, to the joy of the interim owners, they were given the option to purchase the shoppe for the sum of 750,000 PoE. The shoppe was subsequently upgraded to a fine tailor.
