Game concept

Carpenty with easier pieces, but three levels to worry about. GCPP-white-shark-gameplay1.jpg

Objective

Top down view of a construction site. Place premade pieces of Stone, Wood, and Tan Cloth to build the building.

Gameplay

As of right now it is a basic idea prototype. Much like carpentry you place a piece (via crane) onto a building site. Cloth goes on Wood, Wood on Stone, Stone on Grass. Contrary to carpentry - pieces cannot be flipped, only rotated - and may only be placed in a position that works.

As of right now: the pieces are random material (Stone/Wood/Cloth) in the shape of whole pieces made from 1, 2, 3, or 4 units.

To be implemented later is wild pieces (I need sugestions for names / materials), and Hammer/TNT that either ding off one level or go straight to the bottom grass. The loading zone (Toolbox in Carp) holds 5 pieces

Scoring

Not completed yet, but will be based on completion to the required pattern. For example: a house might need a 4x6 foundation (stone), then a 4x6 base (wood), and a 4x4 roof (cloth) leaving a 2x6 patio. A perfect match would be a 'Masterpiece'.

Known problems

  • Uses rotation of images which sometimes are slightly off 0,90,180,270 degrees, just rotate it 360 degrees to fix this.
  • Freezes up sometimes (most likely due to allegro C++)
