Category talk:Islands

Is it worthwhile creating redirects from Xi to Xi Island, etc., for Midnight, Sage, and Ice? I've had a couple people have trouble finding island pages because they think typing "Xi" will get them to the correct page. (They search, but we could eliminate a step). There's already a bot that does this sort of thing for Wikipedia (redirects Des Moines to Des Moines, Iowa and Des Moines, IA to Des Moines, Iowa). We could probably also use a redirect category (category:Redirects from abbreviations or something). I don't mind doing this manually, but it might be this weekend before I'm free.

I think there's only a problem with 2-letter island names. If I type "eieio", I get the right island. I think the search function may not like 2-letter (or 1-letter) searches. --15:48, 27 September 2005 (PDT)

Blockade Format

Indication of Size and/or Inhabitation

I think it would be useful to add some kind of indication onto the island sorting that tells you what size.

e.g.

Admiral Island (Sage) ***

Cook Island (Sage) ***

(The 3 stars indicate it is a large island)

(The italization indicates it is inhabited.)

This is just a suggestion.

Perhaps each ocean's category page should include the text of the ocean page? e.g. Category:Hunter Ocean islands would have {{Hunter Ocean}} instead of just 'see Island' --AtteSmythe 21:52, 1 September 2006 (PDT)
