What The Falchion is a virtually dormant flag on the Cerulean Ocean. It was founded on November 26, 2005 on the former Cobalt Ocean.

Public statement
A Falchion is a medieval one-handed blade combining the weight and power of an axe with the versatility of a sword.
If'n yer looking for a weighty and powerful flag, ye've found us! We are a major player in ocean politics, island owning and blockading.
If'n yer looking for something a bit different, we also have Pillagers who sail the length and breadth of the ocean searching for Brigands and Barbarians laden with booty, Traders keeping an eye out for bargains, and Merchants selling everything from yer first sword to that black and gold outfit ye've been keeping yer eye on!
Even if yer fairly new to the game and aren't quite sure what you're looking for, never fear! We have a Young Falchioners crew full of people willing to show you the ropes until ye find yer feet.

History
What The Falchion was created by The Burning Legion after departing from The Art of War. Soon after its creation, Gentleman was voted in as the first monarch of the flag, and Blackdragon as first royalty. When Gentleman announced his resignation, Epsaltos joined the Royalty ranks.
It was at this point a vote was made not to install a new monarch, which stood as a rule for many years.
While in preparations for islands opening in the Onyx Archipelago the flags structure changed upon a merger with Rumination.
By the end of 2008, the majority of main names in What The Falchion had moved on or retired. The flag was retired by Psychox and Mitja who were the last remaining royals at the time, Tigerleaf Mountain was given away and flag assets shared out.
In early 2009 ZactheDragon returned to the flag following a disagreement in principles while at Dark Asylum and blockaded Fintan in an attempt to prevent another shoppe being built. The blockade proved unsuccessful but Zacthedragon remained in What The Falchion and retired from YPP a few months later.
In February 2012 ZactheDragon returned to the game and with his return What The Falchion is now active again across the ocean. What the Falchion is once again open to new crews and pirates.
February 25th, 2006
What The Falchion successfully gained control of Fintan Island after an uncontested blockade. Epsaltos automatically became the first governor and created the fort, Falchionated Throne. A few days later, Mousht took control of Governership and remained in control for a year, completing the majority of the building layout.

Saw the start of a great 2 week war against Indestructible Fury which What The Falchion won 15-13. It has been said, that this was the longest real war on Cobalt Ocean between two of the biggest flags.

What The Falchion attacked and successfully won Terra Island, defending it successfully on August 12th.

What The Falchion attacked and successfully won Conglin Island, giving it away in a very successful event with a total of 14 participating flags on February 18th, 2007. Dark Asylum won the event.

What The Falchion attacked and successfully won Ansel Island in a highly contested sinking blockade.

What The Falchion attacked and successfully won Viridis Island in a fairly contested blockade. Also giving it away on a very successful event with a total of 12 participating flags on April 15th, 2007. Skull and Crossbones won the event.

What The Falchion continuously actively helped on setting defenses as part of Choose your own island "opening" event until Garden Cradle was colonized.

What The Falchion attacked Dark Asylum to take control of Fintan Island, but was successfully defended in three very close rounds.

What The Falchion attacked Crimson Horizons to take control of Tigerleaf Mountain, Anbin Alayam also attacked. Round one was closely contested with Anbin getting ahead for a safe cluster that they were skilled to get first and hold. Pay went to 2200 a segment and jobbing numbers favoured against What The Falchion so round 2 the flag took in only brigs and had 5/6 on the board, because of it being a three way the two other flags were cancelling each other out for the most part so WTF was leading the round, but once Anbin managed to take control of a large cluster from Crimson Horizons they took the lead, What The Falchion backed out for round three and Anbin went on to win the island.
