Resistance is Futile (Abriviated as RiF) is a crew on the Viridian Ocean. It was formed on the 18th of December 2007 by Bobbyyb with the assistance of Strd and other members of Craneos Ardientes. It has had several mergers and continues to be an active crew. It is a member of the flag Infierno De los Diablos.
It reached Eminent fame on 22nd February , 2008 .
It reached Illustrious fame on March 3rd . 2008 .

A few months after the crews creation , the crew disbanded due to internal issues that took place inside the crew. Bobbyyb and a Few remaining officers united to form a small crew known as "Veteranos" , however it was not intended that this crew be as large-scale as the original Resistance is Futile'.

If you want to join us feel free , however to get a promotion you need to meet the requirements. If you can't obey the rules feel free to leave. Disobeying any rules the captain emphasizes on will result: first-time: Warning, second-time:Demotion, third-time: Expulsion.
I ) General Rules:
1. No Stealing from Coffers
2. No Abandoning ships on sea or unchartered Islands.
3. No abusing/foul language/rude comments.
4. Restock with own money if not money was earned to restock ship.
5. Please Team in Sea Battles , to do so simply click on enemy 'mini-screens' show next to thier face . Teams of 2 and 3 work best . Please do not team to more than 4 people.
6. Please try to speak English the most.
7. No Shouting, unless you are an officer. (Penalty = Plank).
II ) Pillaging Rules:
1. Permission to Board (PTB) is required on crew chat to board any vessel which is in the sea/battle.
2. Obey and follow the orders of the OiC (Officer in Charge).
3. Try not to leave the vessel during battle, unless necessary, or in the case of an emergency.
4. Do not ask to gun. The OiC will choose his own gunners.
5. Lazers will get planked. If you step away for a moment, let the OiC know before hand.
III ) Officer Rules:
1. Make sure you have enough time to sail out and back to port. Do not pass over the control to another officer except in emergency. Leave the ship abandoned at sea if you need to log off urgently. Sail to port and restock it the next time you are online.
2. Check the OBB (Officer Bulletin Board) before sailing to make sure it is a ship you can use, and get some hints from there aswell. Restock it correctly after port.
3. Do not use any of the sailing/bnav controls unless you are leading the pillage or asked to perform a specific task by the OiC of the vessel.
4. PTB (Permission to Board) applies to officers aswell, and when you leave the ship, let the OiC know.
5.Be nice and polite. Don't ignore any members. Remember you are an officer of this crew and your behavior reflects on all of us.
6. Share KB (Kraken's Blood) to crew or flag members on pillage. Share to jobbers if you wish, If you sell it from the ship then the division is done via the method of the Crew (This Crew: Even).
Important : Rank changes are based alot upon loyalty , the longer you have been in the crew for , the more likely for a promotion or a title.
IV ) Promotion Requirements (Serious Players):
1. Cabin Person: Everyone is welcome, just ask.
2. Pirate: Atleast 1 Solid or Respected standing in Sail / Bilge / Carp / Gun, freely assigned by officers to any good members.
3. Officer: actively leads pillages, invites members to join the crew. 3 Solids and 1 Broad atleast; 2 Masters+. Should have been around for atleast 1 week. Distinguish Bnav or Guns minimum.
Some prepartion for members who never been officer before :-
FIRST: Read the YPPedia Sloop Pillaging Guide.
SECOND: Play enough navy missions to get Navy rank of Ensign and get to the mission of Navigation. Make sure all your Puzzle experiences are alteast Narrow, then pratice Battle Navigation with the Navy. (Battle Brigands).
THIRD: Save 8 doubloons before officer training for the badge.
FOURTH: Schedule with any SO to have officer training, to show you the basics of running a pillage.
4. Fleet Officer: 3 Solids,2 Broads, 3 Master +and 1 Renowned+ minimum. Owns a ship. Been around for atleast 2-3 weeks. Bnav Respected minimum.
5. Senior Officer: Trusted by Captain and promoted when has proven himself to be suitable for rank. Usually takes a long time to reach this rank unless the pirate proves himself to be promoted quicker.
Note:-
All inactive officers , FOs and SOs will be demoted. You must pillage atleast once a week in order to keep your title . Try to pillage as much as you can and you will be rewarded aligned to your progress.
If you wish to sail a ship that is locked, you must ask the captain or owner of the vessel for it to be unlocked. He/she may decide whether or not he wants to unlock it for you. The standard rule is that you will take full reponsibility of any unlocked vessel that is pillaged on and will rescue it if abandoned. If it is not stocked and charted, as the OiC, you have to stock and chart it. The owner just holds the deed. Its not the owners job to stock it for you so you can have a nice free pillage.
