Overview
Founded in the year 2005 on October 23 by Quasar and Pinanclee.
Privateers was the largest crew of Go with the Flow until GWTF disbanded on the 20th of May. The Privateers' former Captain Quasar created a new flag with the support of his fellow crew mates. He created the Black Flag and invited previous GWTF members to join up. The Privateers are based mainly in the Gull Archipelago on Sage.

Recent History
The summer of 2006 saw many challenges for the crew. First to happen was the inactivity of Quasar due to ISP problems in their country. Quasar returned in October of 2006. Secondly, Privateers' sister crew, Swimming with the Fishes, was merged into Privateers following the unfortunate decline in that crew. Thirdly, following Quasar's unanticipated and seemingly infinite absence, Hamm was promoted to captain by overwhelming support of the Privateers' officers. The senior officers took a more active role in the crew as well and assisted Hamm in the running of the crew. The crew politcs changed from autocratic to oligarhic. During this time, the crew articles were amended to reflect changes in crew policy on hiring and promotion as well as clarifying requirements for transfers.
The crew experimentented with several VOIP programs such as SKYPE and TEAMSPEAK for better blockade coordination. As a result of that effort, several officers and pirates in the crew routinely chat while playing Puzzle Pirates.
In October 2006, Quasar returned and resumed his roles as Captain and Monarch of the Black Flag.
The winter of 2006-2007 saw turbulent times in the Privateers. With many officers falling away to real life conflicts, the crew began to wane. Some friendships were disolved, other formed, but a general maliaze swept the crew. Quasar stepped down as Captain, passing the torch to Jameshook.
After a few months as Captain, James stepped down and Cuzz was elected to the position. Under Cuzz's leadership, the crew has grown from strength to strength in terms of numbers and crew standing and has remained one of the most established and succesful crews on Sage.

RECRUITING and PROMOTIONS:
1 - Cabin Person - We have an open Cabin person policy, anyone can join us who does not irritate us specifically...
2 - Pirate - A) Stats: Have 2 Pirate Duties (Sail/Carp/Bilge/Guns) at Distinguished or Better. B) Loyalty: No Loyalty considerations for Pirate, you must attain those stats.
3 - Officer - A) Stats: Good overall stats with a minimum Master in Battle Navigation. B) Loyalty: 3 Months in crew with good stats overall will qualify for Officer. Please Note that a combination of this will also be considered... for instance 2 Months in crew with Respected bnav and good other stats...
4 - Fleet Officer - A) Stats: No requirement, though Better stats will improve your chances. B) Loyalty: Must have been an Officer in Privateers for 2 Months or more. C) Trust: Must have the trust of the Senior and Fellow Officers. D) Pillaging: Pillage Often, especially on War Ships. (At least 3 of these 4 requirements must be met fully to be considered)
5 - Senior Officer - A) Stats: Very Elite Stats. B) Loyalty: 6 Months+ contnuously in crew and Been Fleet Officer for 2 Months at least. C) Work in Blockades and For Flag and Crew. Make a noticable difference. Donations to funds also counts. D) Trust: Have Trust of Captain, Fellow Officers AND crew mates. E) Pillage on War Ships Often.
Note that at least 4 of these Requirements must be met very Spectacularly for Senior Officer.
Rules
1. Ask for permission to board (PTB) a vessel, unless officer in charge is advertising pillage on crew channel.
2. Respect all ppl, don't leave when we are in battle and be loyal.
3. If you have labor badge please try to help the crew by working in the crew members' stall. Also, try to order from them.
