History

Lincoln Island is named for U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, but was originally named Lincolnshire, after a British county with a busy 17th century seaport.

Lincoln Island was originally located on the Sage Ocean. On the peninsula near the southwest corner of the island, a rock reads, "This island were fashioned by Emerson."

The Lincoln Island navy was originally named "Lincolnshire Navy" rather than "Lincoln Navy". This was changed in the first few days.

Along with Descartes Isle, Greenwich Island, and Wensleydale, Lincoln was one of the original four colonized Sage islands.
