Gangrenepete
Gangrenepete is a captain and strategist of the crew The Swallow's Tale and king of the flag Saga.
Biography
Pete started his pirate career in Dragon's Wrath of the flag Jolly Roger's Trading Company in October of the year 2006. There, he quickly rose to rank of senior officer under the incredible tutelage of Donniet, who taught him many tricks of the trade.
Jolly Roger's eventually broke up due to some inner turmoil, so Dragon's Wrath and Bloodlust joined forces to found a new flag, Dragon's Blood. Pete became a titled member of this new flag. His duties included helping the flag organize for it's first event in Conglin VI. Donniet eventually left Dragon's Wrath (which subsequently disbanded) and went on to form the crew Tiamat and a new flag, Dragon Armada.
Unfortunately, Dragon's Blood, without Donniet, also lost sight of its destiny and the crews Dragon's Wrath and Bloodlust decided to go their separate ways after a dismal performance in Conglin VI. This time Pete decided to leave his friends, crewmates and flagmates and move on to some new adventures.
His time as an independent was shortlived, as he was recruited (shanghaied) by Luvlynh to join her and Darksmell, captain of Neptune's Chosen of the flag Polaris, in Feb 2007. There, Pete honed his Battle Navigation skills and spent a year helping Polaris take Cormorant in Cormorant III and defend it against The All-Consuming Flame in Cormorant IV. Pete then ran the defense of the island from an attack by The Enlightened in Cormorant V. He was knighted as lord in the flag by Guppygurl for his efforts.
Opportunities to learn and grow in an established and stable flag as Polaris slowed. In search of excitement Pete assisted as bnavver for his friends in Super Awesomeness to defend Ansel against The All-Consuming Flame in Ansel VIII and again against Oceanus Expeditus in Ansel IX. But Pete grew listless without the influx of young pirates to teach.
Then in March of 2008, Pete was given an opportunity by Leslieann to join Twisted Revolution of the flag Twisted Souls with a fresh new vision to shape the future and the goal to help build a fearsome crew out of an exciting bunch o young, energetic and fantastic mates. After conferring with Darksmell about the options, he accepted Leslieann's offer. Soon after joining, the crew left Twisted Souls and joined the flag, Twisted, to assist them in a few projects and learn about island ownership and ocean politics from an established flag and more experienced crews. Pete was scheduled to bnav to assist Twisted to capture Dendrite in Dendrite V on April 12th, but real life travel precluded coordination and cast doubt as to his availability and so he assisted in other crew positions.
On July 4th, 2008, with a fresh outlook Leslieann disbanded Twisted Souls and created a new flag, Dawn of the Revolution, which was born specifically on the anniversary of the birth of a well-known republic to signify a new beginning for the crew's future endeavors. The goals of the flag are to train young pirates to attain their potential and to attract new crews for daring deeds.
Pete helped Super Awesomeness defend in Ansel XII and helped them capture Cormorant in Cormorant VII
Won the team sportsmanship award in OCL7 SeaBattle Cobalt 2, leading the team Revanche to 4th place standing.
Pete had hoped to sail with Dawn of the Revolution to his piratey retirement in an estate with horse stables somewhere on the shores of Jubilee, but that was not to be.
In March of 2010, he and his adopted daughter, Keladry, started the crew The Swallow's Tale which joined with a former crewmate, Baccus, under a temporary flag Fishnet Stockings to participate in Fintan VI. Then on April 14, the flag Saga was born to signify the start of a new chapter and new adventure in the old salt's life.
In June 2010, Pete drove for the defense in both Harmattan VIII and Carmine IV
