Template talk:Room table/cells-5

From YPPedia

Assuming that each of the three cell-groups in a row is treated the same - and I think it is - this should probably rely on a Template:Room cell, eventually, to simplify the code.I think I got it so that it displays the same in MSIE as Mozilla. --AtteSmythe 19:39, 16 July 2006 (PDT)

Nevermind. I remember why embedded tables don't work. Pity about so much CSS - it'd be easier if Mediawiki allowed us to define classes. --AtteSmythe 19:40, 16 July 2006 (PDT)
Indeed it would. The main template did rely on more templates, but it got far too complicated. Thanks muchly for the code fix :-) --Sagacious (talk) 19:41, 16 July 2006 (PDT)

Since there's only one cell - the title cell - that doesn't have grey text on a black background, it may be more efficient to move those styles to the table start. Then we'd only have border information on the individual cells. --AtteSmythe 09:22, 17 July 2006 (PDT)

Err, I am not sure what you mean. If the change means no difference in the way the table appears, then go ahead and make some tweaks to demonstrate what you mean :-) --Sagacious (talk) 09:45, 17 July 2006 (PDT)
Correct, it shouldn't. I'll try it out... --AtteSmythe 09:50, 17 July 2006 (PDT)
There. See changes to Template:Room table/cells-5 and Template:Room table. Bungalow can be checked for correctness. --AtteSmythe 09:55, 17 July 2006 (PDT)
Ahh I see now. Works fine, good thinking. --Sagacious (talk) 10:09, 17 July 2006 (PDT)

Modulo-3

Yep! Lot cleaner, eh? --AtteSmythe 15:08, 17 July 2006 (PDT)

I am still not sure whether to love or hate you :P Something about the horrendous long code each time did spark something in my head, but the thought of more templates-on-templates made it seem like too much work. Good job ;-)--Sagacious (talk) 15:10, 17 July 2006 (PDT)
