History
Kithara Koro was originally located on the Malachite Ocean. An inscription on a rock to the east of the dock reads "This island were fashioned by Jezabella."
A kithara is an ancient Greek instrument of the lyre family - the instrument is an ancestor to the modern guitar, and indeed the word guitar comes from the Ancient Greek kithara via the Latin cithara and the Spanish guitarra. In modern-day Greek, kithara is still in common usage to mean guitar.
Koro comes from the Koro Sea, a sea within the Pacific Ocean and entirely surrounded by the islands of the Fijiian Archipelago.
It is not clear how the two parts of the island's name are related.
Kithara Koro is an uninhabitable island.
