Cabin person is the lowest rank a player can have in a crew. Players are assigned the rank of cabin person automatically when they join a crew. Cabin persons can only play the sailing, carpentry, and bilging puzzles on ships unless an officer gives them an order.
There are limits to the kind of clothing a cabin person can wear. On subscriber oceans, individuals that have not subscribed to the game cannot be assigned a rank higher than cabin person.
