Welcome to YPPedia, hosted by Three Rings. Before you edit the wiki, you must agree to the terms below. These terms may be changed over time without notice to you. Important changes will be announced on the YPPedia or on the YPPedia forum. You agree to be bound by any changes to this page.

If you do not accept and abide by this agreement, please do not use the YPPedia. If you do not wish to follow YPPedia's policies, please do not edit this wiki.

Description of service

Three Rings hosts YPPedia. YPPedia's content is made freely accessible for informational or entertainment purposes to anyone with a connection to the World Wide Web.

YPPedia content

Three Rings is the hosting provider, and takes no responsibility for the content uploaded by third parties. YPPedia's Administrators will act to remove copyright violations in a timely manner following the receipt of a DMCA takedown request.

Three Rings' YPPedia is provided "as is". Three Rings has no responsibility for lack of availability of any wiki or of any particular content. You should be aware that the wikis are editable by the public, and, as such, may contain inappropriate content at any time.

Any use you make of content hosted by YPPedia must be in line with the terms of that wiki's license. YPPedia is available under the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY).

Any content you upload or post to YPPedia must be compatible with the CC BY license, not violate another person's intellectual property or infringe on any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, or other proprietary rights. No content shall be added which violates any applicable law, including local, state, national, and international laws.

No content shall be added to YPPedia that is tortious, threatening, harmful, hateful, unlawful, libelous, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, vulgar, obscene, contains viruses, or is otherwise objectionable or potentially damaging, as reasonably determined by Three Rings.

All content on YPPedia is the responsibility of the person who uploaded it or added it to a wiki page. Three Rings does not control the content, and does not approve the content before it is published. Although they are not obliged to do so, Three Rings, or its designees, have the right to remove any content for any reason, including violation of these terms of use.

Page histories and mailing list archives are archives as defined under the US Copyright Act.

Use of the YPPedia

Use of the YPPedia is at your own risk.

Users of this service shall not act in a way on YPPedia which would be harmful to minors. Users of this service shall not impersonate any other person or entity.

Users shall not harass other users or collect or publish personal information about them.

Three Rings may terminate your use of the site, and administrators may terminate your ability to edit the site.

Commercial activities which have not been authorized by Three Rings are not permitted on the site. You may not sell or otherwise commercially exploit the use of this service, or access to the service.

Access to YPPedia

Three Rings reserves the right to refuse access to the YPPedia to any user, for any reason.

YPPedia may be discontinued at any time and without any liability to any user.

YPPedia may be closed, either to editing or viewing at any time and without notice.

Advertising

No user shall add advertising.

YPPedia will never host pop-up adverts or any other form of advertising.

Collection of personal information

User information is stored on servers in the United States. The only information that you need give is a username and password. The username does not need to be your real name. Therefore, any personal information you choose to give is not compulsory. No personal information should be given on the wiki by persons aged less than 13 years.

If you choose to enter a real name in your preferences, this will be publicly available. However, this field is optional, and there is no requirement for any user to give a real name. Users under 13 should not give their real name.

Information from our server logs may be stored and used to gather aggregate data about users, and used to determine whether the identity of one or more users is the same in cases of abuse. This data includes your IP address, and details about your browser.

Your browser must permit cookies to be set (by *.puzzlepirates.com) in order for you to log in to YPPedia. If you do not make an account on YPPedia, there is no necessity to accept cookie requests from this site.

Edits by users who are not logged in will show the user's IP address in the page history of the article they edited, and also in other places on the site, including watchlists and recent changes, and in any external feeds made of such pages.

Trademarks

The names Three Rings, Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates and YPPedia and the logos of YPPedia are trademarks of Three Rings.

All content on the site is available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution license. All copyrights remain with their original holder, and Three Rings holds no copyright other than those of its own trademarks, and the edits submitted by Three Rings' staff.

Legal action

You agree to indemnify Three Rings, its owners, employees, and users from any liability relating to your use of this site, or its content.

All legal action will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in California, US.

Disclaimer of warranties

Except in those jurisdictions which do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, Three Rings expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind and shall not be liable for any damages or losses whether directly or indirectly related to your use of this site or its content.

Severability

If any term, condition or clause of these terms of use is found to be invalid then the remaining terms, conditions and clauses, shall remain valid.
