Your User page is for you to write things about yourself, things you might need to remember, etc.. If you want to describe your pirate, you can create a pirate page by going to this page and editing it. But before you start doing a lot of editing, you might want to take the Wikipedia Tutorial and the Notes for new users. They give a lot of basic info you'll want to get you oriented with wikis and YPPedia. You could also check out some general tips.
