Hit points for a Fanchuan

I find your calculation of fanchuan hit points extremely unlikely, given the facts of Three Rings' established ship hit points. Please see Template:Ship hit points and Template:Shot damage for the established data. Based on the relative data for dhow/cutter and longship which bracket the fanchuan in terms of hit points, I can project that the fanchuan has a "sink" HP value of 26-29, and a "pillage" HP value of either 16 or 17. "Pillage" HP is always exactly 60% of "sink" HP. As you can see, this is problematic for the fanchuan which dictates that "sink" HP must be either 26.667 or 28.333. However, a "pillage" HP value of 16, and a "sink" HP value of 27 seems accurate enough. This would impute a max damage of 8 small cannonballs. (Each small cannonball is 2 HP, as you can see from the chart.)

However, your calculation of 7.88 small cannonballs is impossible for any HP value. I would like to ask what experimentation led you to come to these values? Chupchup 02:54, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

And by the way, I did round properly, and then I noticed that all the other articles gave rounded fractions rather than rounding to number of cannon balls needed, so I corrected it. My calculated hit points are 26 for "sink" and 15.6 for "pillage" HP. I've updated all the relevant places with this knowledge. Thanks for calling that 8 into question, though.
