Rearranging Process

In addition to rearranging the images, the sub-templates (like Template:My trinkets/18x1 primary/rose) will need to have their values adjusted, so the My trinket template still works like it should. For this reason all the one-dimensional images (their templates use the 18x1 sub-templates) should be uploaded around the same time. The two-dimensional images (18x18 sub-templates) are independent from the one-dimensional ones, but should be uploaded together as well. Since browsers will cache the old images for a while anyway, this is probably not that time critical, but there shouldn't be gaps of several hours between uploads of images in the same group. --Alfwyn 15:40, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

I just noticed that there is a third group of trinkets (medals) in the list, they use the 18x3 sub-templates, they form their own group and can be done in their own seperate batch. --Alfwyn 15:45, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I will add this to my notes. I'll be waiting for confirmation from Orsino about the correct rose > lavender > mint order and then I will get started. Would you prefer that I upload all finished templates to an external image hosting website (Photobucket would most likely function to our advantage due to the fact that (sub)folders are available), just in case something might happen to me or my laptop? My computer has been acting up lately and I'd hate to watch it crash after I get so close to finishing. In the mean time I will group the trinkets together according to their 18x18/18x1/18x3 templates for ease of access. --Sharktailz 9:13, 21 March 2009 (HST)

I'm wondering. Firstly, do I want to collapse the space left for Atlantean in the 18x3 trinkets? And if so, do I want to modify the 18x3 trinket templates to just use the 18x18 primary sub-templates, since they're exactly the same? (If not, do I want to leave a space for Indigo before adding the three new colours?) --Belthazar451 17:48, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Since OMs can create trinkets in any color we should always leave the gap for colors we know exist but don't have any examples for. --Fiddler 23:21, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
I removed the gap and changed the templates already, three days ago. If the OMs do happen to majick up one of the medals in atlantean or indigo, the 18x18 sub-templates already have atlantean and indigo, so we can just stick them on the end. I don't see this as being terribly likely - so far the only trinkets they've majicked up have been the heart and sphere baubles last Christmas. In the meantime, though, it didn't seem to make terribly much sense to have two separate sets of identical sub-templates. And someday I'll remember to actually delete the now-orphaned 18x3 sub-templates. --Belthazar451 23:56, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Speaking of the baubles, putting the atlantean and indigo at the end doesn't strike me as a good solution. The whole point of the reorganization project was to put the images in the proper order and putting them at the end is not the proper order. I understand it makes for a cleaner image for the majority of trinkets but it defeats the purpose of having the trinkets ordered the same as they would be in the game.--Fiddler 00:23, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
I originally put the atlantean and indigo baubles on the end because they were created after rose, lavender, mint, light green and magenta had been released, and it was simpler to do that than it was to adjust the other fifty 18x18 images. Even further back, when I was originally adding the new colours to the 18x18 images that existed at the time, I started off by leaving a gap for atlantean, until the consensus informed me that no, it would be better if I omitted the gap. So yes, the heart and sphere baubles are not, strictly speaking, in colour order. I am quite certain, though, that for everything else, this will never be an issue. --Belthazar451 01:26, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
