A Blockade is an event primarily used to Conquer islands however many can be just simply for the thrill of a giant sea battle between several flags. A Blockade may be declared on an island by royal members of a flag. they must be on the island that they want to attack and pay a sizable sum , known as a war chest. other flags may then defend the island or join the attack. to defend the flag must have enough fame, This changes depending on the type of the island.

In Blockades, like a sea battle, the ships engage in combat by firing cannon balls at enemy ships, however unlike sea battles ships are not allowed grapple each other and may be sunk by the damage meter reaching full. The ship is either sent back to the island and may not re enter the battle , or the ship is sunk completely and it is lost forever.

you do not need any experience to enter a blockade as a jobber. simply go to the notice board on any island and check the "blockades" tab on the top right. If there are any blockades going on at the moment, then a person hirings name and flag will appear with how much they are offering jobbers per segment. Just send a tell (/tell then username) to that person and wait till they offer you a jobbing position.

No blockades at the moment? never fear, there are usually hundreds of blockades every month and any that have been declared will appear on the "blockades" tab on the notice board, along with when they will begin. special Blockades Defending Islands from Brigand Kings will also be declared on the "home" tab of the notice board.
