The Scurvy Scallywags was founded on December 28th, 2006 by Jelaena, with the support of Aedomon, Nicol, and Peterplank. All four founding members were previously members of the Scabby Sea Rats. The new crew joined a small flag, Frozen Shadow, on December 31, 2006. On January 2, 2007, The Scurvy Scallywags left Frozen Shadow to strike out on their own in a politics-free environment.
On March 27, 2007, the crew's captain entered an event blockade while pillaging with hearties. Not flying a flag, the sloop could not influence buoys, and were therefore listed by the game as "unaffiliated." Later that same day, the captain created the flag Unaffiliated and invited her crew, which immediately joined. The crew remains non-political in its new flag, but is now able to influence buoys and claim points in blockades. Also, the entire crew can now wear crowns.
The goal of The Scurvy Scallywags is to promote honourable piracy on the Midnight Ocean. And also to collect a tribute of 25 units of limes from any prospective Fleet Officers.
