Can I get some feedback on this? I'm thinking of prepping an Event Organizers' Toolbox for TTQA or the Events forum, and this would be a component, so I want to make sure I've got it right :-/ --Teeg 14:52, 1 March 2006 (PST)

Under the things you cannot do section, it seems like the text is phrased to indicate that an article creator can edit their article even if it's protected, but that isn't true. If a page is locked, it can only be edited by those with sysop priviledges. I personally don't have any issue with having event-related templates locked in order to make sure confused people don't mess up the template (ala what has generally happened to the pirate categories before most of them got locked). --Thunderbird 15:39, 1 March 2006 (PST)

I'd actually intended that more for the "ok, my deadline's here, so I'm gonna lock all my entries now" mindset, with the rest of it a toss to the "Oh, wait... I can't do this myself. Hey, Thunderbird_or_other_administrator, can you please manually lock all > 200 entries for me? Thanks." Will rephrase, though. --Teeg 15:54, 1 March 2006 (PST)

Under the things you should not do section, point two discusses creating namespaces. This is a pain in the rear for the devs to do. What we've done up to this point is have pages for artistic events in the Art: namespace and pages for other events in the regular namespace. Creating a faux namespace, as you've sugested, is basically keeping all contest entries to a specific naming format in the main namespace.

Also, as part of you Event Organizers' Toolbox you may wish to adapt a template from the E2 template. When I was drawing up Avatars Reloaded, I used a modified form over here to keep Artemis and Prometheus up to date on changes.--Fiddler 07:58, 2 March 2006 (PST)
