Talk:Salvatrucha

From YPPedia

Pronoun

Salvatrucha is clearly a female pirate. Is there some reason she is referred to by the masculine pronoun in this article? Is there some precedent for reversing a pirate's sex in this manner? Chupchup 12:43, 25 May 2013 (PDT)

While his pirate is female, he is male outside the game and would prefer that be known. Glassjaw7 7:49, 25 May 2013 (PDT)
Faulkston and I disagree with you. A player who is male can use his user-space page to make that known. This is documentation about the pirate, who is female. Chupchup 18:13, 25 May 2013 (PDT)

Then I'd rather delete the page, as I am him and don't wish to be remembered as a female as I am male. Thanks for all your "help", marked by user for speedy deletion, I ask that decision be respected. Glassjaw7 8:36, 25 May 2013 (PDT)

Before blanking the article, please read the note which appears below each text edit box which states in part: "Please note that all contributions to YPPedia are considered to be released under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 Licence (see YPPedia:Copyrights for details). If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then don't submit it here."
Certainly a basic article without male or female pronouns can remain in the YPPedia. -- Faulkston 19:18, 25 May 2013 (PDT)
If a pronoun is going to cause such a fuss, I'd rather not. I envisioned quite the opposite of a basic article to note my time spent in game. "No significant abuse, and no administrative need to retain the page." criteria is met as well as the user (myself) asking the page be deleted, multiple other criteria are met for the speedy deletion. Thanks again. Glassjaw7
The full criteria which you have partially quoted is "User and talk pages on request of the user, where there is no significant abuse, and no administrative need to retain the page."
This is a pirate article, not a user page or a user talk page. Both of these types of page appear in the user name space i.e. the page starts with "User:". -- Faulkston 19:35, 25 May 2013 (PDT)
My mistake, a misunderstanding as I am new to the wiki and read through it with some haste and frustration. Regardless the page should get a speedy deletion. Glassjaw7
None of the (at present) 11 criteria for speedy deletion are met by the article. -- Faulkston 19:50, 25 May 2013 (PDT)
Fair enough, we can do it your way then. Glassjaw7
Article blankings in YPPedia are handled in the same consistent way provided that their contents were not in violation of YPPedia policies and guidelines. -- Faulkston 19:59, 25 May 2013 (PDT)
The article wasn't blanked, there was content on the page. Glassjaw7
