Talk:Event E2/Proposal Alyred

From YPPedia

You've written a great story to start this event out, and it has certainly garnered my interest. I'm a little confused about the OM request for minor coding in regards to your "cave". What exactly are you looking for from the Devs (since Devs do the coding, not OM's)? If you only need a location, you might consider temporarily using some house location somewhere as your "cave" and having it set to anybody can come in when the event character is in there, or something like that.

My second question is the purse. Is that 120,000 ammount something you're going to come up with, through your own funding and donations, or is it a true purse, holding entry fees? If it's entry fees, you may run into a problem on the 1/10th bit unless you have it set up where the leftover is returned to entrants (OM's can not participate/help with prizes or support for any event you profit from, I think is the rule). This isn't a problem at all if you're the one coming up with the full prize ammount.

Otherwise, I can't really think of too many questions. It sounds very interesting, to be sure. If you are short-listed, the entire event needs to be completed in that set time-frame, so it would have to be 1 clue per day. However, if you're not short-listed and choose to run this event anyway, you could have it be longer (the 1 a week or month that you mentioned). I'd suggest sticking to 1 a day, in order to maintain that drive. Once a week is too easy for folks to forget and move on to something else, once a day keeps them checking in.--Muroni 05:35, 8 February 2006 (PST)
