Hunter

Anybody want to check the outpost fame requirements for Hunter? Accompong should be open to blockades (for events). If nobody gets around to it, I'll check after school today. --Thunderbird 08:52, 26 April 2006 (PDT)

It's Renowned...I'm guessing that's because that's the default. --Thunderbird 11:13, 26 April 2006 (PDT)

Redirects

Are the redirects for each fame level necessary? I don't have a problem with them personally, but I'm not sure if they're really necessary; a search to any of the fame levels will yield this article as the first (or near the first) result anyway. At any rate, if we keep these redirects, should we go ahead and create redirects to brigand for each of the brigand/crew classes (sailors, imperials, etc.)? --Emufarmers 20:03, 6 May 2006 (PDT)

My thinking in adding them is that they don't hurt anyone, and there are probably a few people who have tried to go to them and gotten nothing, so why not simplify. If you want to kill them, go ahead, but if you don't have a problem with them, why remove them? (I've got zero admin aspirations, so this isn't editcount++, either.) --Ponytailguy 20:19, 6 May 2006 (PDT)
Well, you've got me convinced; I know there's an exactly policy on redirects around here somewhere (if only I could find it), but this seems alright. :) --Emufarmers 20:44, 6 May 2006 (PDT)
The redirects are actually a good idea. I've been mulling over a list of useful redirects, but it's a low-priority right now since it's only of limited (but definite) benefit. --Barrister 22:28, 6 May 2006 (PDT)
Sooo... three years later, now that Reputation uses the same rank names, do we change the redirects to disambigs, or just not bother? --Belthazar451 01:10, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Move

Why has this been moved to "Crew fame" when it applies equally to flag fame as well? --Ruddigore 04:08, 3 November 2006 (PST)

A good enough point and, as with many things I do, a tendency to wish for a consistency in naming of pages led to me ignoring that important fact. My apologies. --Captain N 04:44, 3 November 2006 (PST)

Current ocean blockade req'ts

So back in March, the disparity between oceans was removed. Is that correct? Is there a discussion anywhere about if requirements were changed? Sashamorning 20:31, 7 June 2007 (PDT)

Quick visits to Winter Solstice and Aimurai to check the blockade requirements seem to suggest this is the case.--Ponytailguy 21:07, 7 June 2007 (PDT)

Fame Duration

Should "stays for a duration of approximately two weeks" be changed to "stays for ten days"? (http://forums.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=70688#1157013) ByeThunda 15:56, 26 July 2007 (PDT)

Jobbers contribute fame?

  • If the pirate is jobbing, the pirate's own crew/flag as well as the crew/flag they are jobbed into receive the credit for the activity.

I'm pretty sure this is false -- as evidence, note that the Bake Off crew is Aspiring even after a giant bake-off. Do people have some information that would indicate jobbed pirates contribute fame? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Parrrdner (talkcontribs)

I believe that jobbers do contribute to fame. I made the change after I had posted a thread and consulted other pirates about their opinions. Pirates who responded to my thread agreed with me. http://forums.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?p=1157834#1157834 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hula pirates (talkcontribs)

I don't believe you've achieved consensus in that thread. The official documentation explicitly contradicts your claim, and you haven't yet done enough testing to prove your claim. Let's keep the current version for now. --Barrister 11:28, 28 August 2007 (PDT)
Can I please have a link to the official documentation that you referred to? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hula pirates (talkcontribs)
Sweetie provided a link in this post. -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 14:08, 28 August 2007 (PDT)
In regards to the bake off crew, pirates are not jobbed into the crew they are provided with a whisk to the ship being used for the event. -- Cedarwings (t/c) 21:25, 28 August 2007 (PDT)
Please read Sprngweather's post in the thread. -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 21:45, 28 August 2007 (PDT)
Some people seem to have not gotten the point. Perhaps this article should, at least temporarily, be protected? -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 14:54, 1 September 2007 (PDT)

parlor games?

Do parlor puzzles help crew fame such as sword fight?

I would assume so... the article isn't very specific though... I would assume labor puzzles also generate fame as well. --Lordkeesh 19:17, 26 January 2008 (PST)

The navy

When you puzzle with the navy,do you still contribute fame to your crew if you are in one? T rex75 01:13, 15 March 2008 (PDT)

Miscellaneous

This page needs to be updated for the four new catagories for fame from the 209-10-06 release. --Katyland 6:33, 6 Oct 2009 (PDT)

"On Viridian, the fame requirements have been lowered by one rank for each type of island."

Is this true? Can somebody link me? --Ihope127 25 July 2005 10:54 (PDT)

It's true, but I don't think it's been announced. If you check Kirin, you'll notice you need not be eminent. --Ming (Talk)
