Talk:Blade Runner
Disambiguation page style
This isn't really specific to this page only, but since my discussion at YPPedia_talk:Style guide#Disambiguation Links didn't get too much response I repeat it here for this example.
I de-linked and unpiped the page for a reason.
According to Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Page_style, links on disambiguation pages should be never hidden behind pipes, and the only link on the line should be the target page.
I realize that YPPedia isn't Wikipedia, and that there's massive precedence to the contrary on YPPedia. Nonethelss I think the arguments for the page style on Wikipedia are valid here as well. A disambiguation page is a navigational aid, not an article. If one hits such a page, one is interested in finding out the page one was looking for in the first place in a manner as fast and unconfusing as possible.
Other links then the target to click on tend only to confuse. Hiding a link to a disambiguation target doesn't make it any clearer what the intended page title is. And an editor disambiguating a link has to hover with his mouse over the link to find out the target page title, instead of seeing it at once. --Alfwyn 23:47, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- I think YPPedia precedence should take... uh... precedence over the Wikipedia standards. Quite aside from the fact that's you're talking four hundred and thirty-two disambig pages, our way looks prettier. And I don't think it's all that confusing. Though I will admit having to hover the mouse over a link to find the disambiguation tag is a point, it doesn't take more than two or three seconds. The link should be non-piped in disambig notes on pages, but I think we should keep our disambig pages as they are. --Belthazar451 00:51, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
