I would appreciate it if the mods would not make changes in grammar to my page, particularly as they are almost always wrong. For example, the terms 'Senior Officer' and 'Lieutenant' are titles and therefore should remain capitalised, whereas 'weaving,' 'bilging' etc have no need to be.
Also, as I am from England I would appreciate it if you didn't alter words like 'colour' and 'labour,' thank you. - Assassindx
- The casedness of titles like "senior officer" depend on the context - they're not always capitaltised. For example "I am Captain Belthazar" has upper-case, while "I am the captain of this vessel" has lower-case. For puzzle names, check out the YPPedia Style Guide. And this is Faulkston we're talking about, here - by definition, he's always right. =) As for colour and labour, we like consistency on articles about the game itself, but I kinda thought policy for pirate articles was not to bother with it. On that note, though, I'm Australian, so I completely agree on the spelling, but it's unfortunately something you've got to get used to. --Belthazar451 22:31, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
About capitalization, see this style guide section. As for American/British word spelling differences, I once kept the spelling in an article how it was (British) but the following edit by another editor had an edit comment which said American spelling should be used. It's not like there's a huge difference between American and British spelling - after a while one's eyes almost automatically add/remove letters before the visual cortex starts processing. -- Faulkston 01:31, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for taking the time to reply guys, much appreciated. I understand where you're coming from on this and for the benefit of consistency I'll stick to the style guide as much as possible, as Belthazar says it's one of those things that I'll have to get used to eventually. - Assassindx
