Synchronized Sailing

Synchronized Sailing is a team-based Cadesim event, where ships will become dancers in choreographed routines! Teams will be judged on style, hazard interaction, and coordination.

To enter, complete your team's wonderful dance on Cadesim, and post the replay link <in the entry thread> before <closing date and time>!

Rules and requirements

• Each team must have a minimum of 4 ships, and between 2 and 6 navvers
• Any size/type of ships can be used
• All teams will use the same map: 'The Stage!' by Adrie
• The map contains 3 types of hazard: winds, white whirlpools and green whirlpools. Each ship in the performance must touch all 3 hazard types during the routine
• Teams must also earn a minimum point score of 12 during the performance
• The routine will officially start when a member of the team types the word 'start' into the lobby chat (to give ships time to move into their starting positions), and will end when they type the word 'end' into the chat

Judging

Our expert judges will view and evaluate performances. Judging will be based on:

Requirement fulfillment

• At least 4 ships used, and 2-6 navvers
• All 3 hazards touched
• 12 point minimum achieved

Creativity, synchronizedness and showpersonship

• Originality and uniqueness of movements and formations
• How well ships move together in time and space
• Overall presentation and engagement factor

Additional information

Some additional information on how to set up the cade sim lobby, and how to get the replay link for your routine:

• Go to cadesim (where you will need to make an account and sign in to create a lobby)
• Once you are there and signed in, click on 'create lobby' and create a blockade type lobby. (The lobby can be invite only or public, but make sure the max number of players slider is big enough for all of your team members to join. If some of your team members are playing as guests, you need to tick the box to allow guests)
• To get your team to all be on the same side, go to settings and change the bots option to 'disabled'
• Then go to map selection and choose 'The Stage!' by Adri (searching for "stage" finds it easily =D)
• Play your routine and let the game finish so that the replay will be available
• Get the replay by going to Profile > Matches and then 'view' the routine (then you can copy the link from your browser)
