The Sargasso Sea is an elongated region of water within the North Atlantic Ocean. It is surrounded by currents, but the water within is relatively calm. The sea was originally named by Christopher Columbus after the masses of sargassum seaweed that floats on the surface. It is the world's only sea which has no shores.
Sargasso Island is an uninhabitable island.
