Magnate is obtained through buying 'through the game'. This includes: Opening a stall Buying badges Buying a house

In short, you have to spend doubloons in order to gain magnate reputation.

There are two methods:

The 'Money is no problem' Method Black boxes also count towards reputation. With 500k i reckon that illustrious magnate reputation could easily be achieved. Black boxes cost 10k each and if you get lucky you could find that a Skeleton monkey you win will easily make up the cost of 50 boxes. This method is very quick.

The 'Cheaper' Method This method focuses on buying badges. Buy plenty of doubloons and offer to sell people badges at discount rates. If the doubloon rate is 2k then say that you are selling badges at a price of 1950 PoE per doubloon. This means that a parlor badges will cost 4 x 1950. This method takes much longer than the Black Box method however you are only losing a few PoE per doubloon or even a profit if you managed to buy doubloons while they were cheaper.
