The image format of choice for Three Rings is usually PNG. However, PNG images with transparency often don't work as transparent in Internet Explorer, so if you require transparency use a GIF. If you need help reducing the size of your image, put a note on the image's talk page or on this talk page and hopefully someone can help you out.
