Game concept
When you click on a block, it eliminates all the same colored blocks touching it.
Objective
Clear the entire board by strategically clicking groups of blocks.
Gameplay
You click on a group of color to eliminate all the pieces of that color that are attached to it. The objective is to repeat this until the board is cleared.
There will be multiple levels of different colors and another level of mixed colored blocks comes up every little while. The speed that the levels come up slowly increases in order to prevent the game lasting forever, therefore, this game requires quick thinking and planning.
In order to destroy a group of blocks, however, there must be at least 2, 3 (or however many is decided upon) blocks touching.
The more pieces in the group, the more points you get for it but the longer you play, the less points you get, however the size of the group.
Scoring
Once the board is cleared, the level of skill (Skilled, Excellent, etc) is determined by two factors: The score of the player and the time it took. Getting low in either will bring down and the score and getting low in both will result in getting a bad outcome and vice versa where getting good in both areas will result in a higher score.
Variability
The colors of the blocks can be different every time and also the number of same colored blocks touching.
'Special Blocks': There will be random generated 'special' pieces that will randomly be created in the puzzle. Examples: Rainbow pieces which change all the blocks directly adjacent to it (diagonal too) to one random color. Wildcard pieces which destroy one random adjacent group. Stone pieces which will act like normal blocks but unclickable and only clearable by destroying a group of its color thats adjacent to it. Plus any other wacky pieces that are thought of.
End criteria
When the board is cleared,
Difficulty scaling
The higher the skill of the player will determine how many levels high the blocks start out and possibly the number of colors. Also, the maximum amount of same colored pieces adjacent at the beginning could be lower at higher skill levels.
Crafting type
Iron Monger using the enamels as the pieces possibly with possibly cannonballs as bonus pieces which when clicked will act as a wildcard destroying all the blocks of a single, random adjacent color.
Known problems
A system will need to be developed to prevent too many blocks of one color being created adjacent to each other when the puzzle is started up
