Like aquamarine, morganite and heliodor, emeralds are a type of beryl, a precious gemstone. It is beryllium aluminium cyclosilicate (Be3Al2(SiO3)6) with the green color of the emerald coming from impurities of chromium and vanadium. The emerald gemstone also lends its name to a shade of green which matches the usual color of emeralds.
An ocarina is an ancient flute-like wind instrument. It is typically oval in shape, with four to twelve finger-holes and a mouth tube projecting from the body. Ocarinas are usually made from plastic, wood, ceramics, glass, clay or metal - it would not be unheard-of to find an ocarina made of emerald, but given emerald's brittleness and value, it may not be a wise idea.
