Category talk:Misnamed images

From YPPedia

Possible category split

I kinda want to split this category in two, with the second category being misnamed images that have an alternate name suggested via the template. Would make it a heck of a lot easier to identify stuff that is ready to be moved, and stuff that people aren't sure of the correct filename for (though I think the latter probably comprises most of this category right now). Anybody have any thoughts? --Thunderbird 04:41, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Go for it. "Images to be renamed" or something? It looks like an easy fix, aside from deciding on a name. (Though a fair number of those images look like they ought to be deleted. Booch uploads aren't worth renaming.) --Budclare2 06:01, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
Nevermind. I need to stay awake a while longer, and needed something to do to help me stay awake. Turns out Addy provided suggestions for lots of images that never actually got moved...though a lot of them aren't actually linked to, so it's unclear what should actually be done with them. Ugh.
It's been entertaining watching them sloooowly sort into the new category. Refresh, refresh, refresh.
(The ice end tables have priority, please. <3) --Budclare2 00:48, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for setting that up. I had been pondering this whole thing this morning. Holy hell, 233 images (almost half!?) had naming suggestions already? I didn't think it would come anywhere near that. I went ahead and moved the two ice table images (I'm surprised nobody set up a redirect for that, given that it took awhile for them to be noticed). --Thunderbird 03:42, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
Again, I'm not sure how many of those should actually be moved. It looks like the site was basically being used for file hosting back in the day, which for all I know might have been technically allowed back then. Are we allowed to delete them if they're unused?
It never even crossed my mind to actually add a redirect for an image...and if I had realized how long they'd been waiting to be moved, I would have stalked an admin instead. ;) --Budclare2 04:18, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
