There's a typo ("the the") in this description, but I'm not sure what the text is supposed to say instead, so I'm reluctant to fix it. --Barrister 15:04, 1 December 2005 (PST)

mismatched?

There seem to be a number of images whose names don't match the fields passed to the template. Which should we believe? --Barrister 22:56, 1 December 2005 (PST)

Which images? And which fields? The naming format goes avatar-artist's forum name-filename. The template goes avatar|artist's forum name|user's forum name. For the most part, user's forum name will not match up with whatever pirate name was used to name the file. As this is a huge project, I'm just uploading the images with the given pirate name filled in for the user's forum name, except in instances that I personally know otherwise. Fixing that issue will take a call to arms to the forum populace and a second pass at the project.--Fiddler 23:34, 1 December 2005 (PST)
Take a look at Image:Avatar-AaronZOOM-Risky.jpg. The file name indicates the avatar was for Risky, but the template at the bottom says otherwise. For Image:Avatar-Nikells-Naegean.gif, the file name says "Naegean" but the text says "Aegean"... Other than my own avatar, I don't usually pay attention to who created what. So, I'm pretty useless at fixing the problem. Sorry. --Barrister 09:52, 2 December 2005 (PST)
There's no problem here. Image:Avatar-AaronZOOM-Risky.jpg - Risky was short for Riskyboots, whose forum name was AaronZOOM. So, she is credited as both the artist and the user. For Image:Avatar-Nikells-Naegean.gif, I used the label that the avatar had in the original avatar gallery post, so the user is credited as Aegean. When I make the second pass over these, I will try to find the actual forum names for many of the users. I am making sure to find the forum name of the artist before I upload these images to the wiki.--Fiddler 10:00, 2 December 2005 (PST)
Aha! And that's why I asked before doing something stupid like editing the files.  :-) I think I'll just stand clear of the avatars and let you do your thing. --Barrister 10:07, 2 December 2005 (PST)
No worries. I'll let everyone know when it's safe to go poking around the files. In the meantime, if you run across an avatar with the incorrect user attribution, feel free to fix it if you know the proper name (Like I just did for Aegean up above.)--Fiddler 10:10, 2 December 2005 (PST)
