History

Califia was started by Talulu in December of 2008 after becoming restless as an SO in a crew that she felt lacked ambition and direction.

Extended Public Statement

West of the Rocky Mountains near the terrestrial paradise exists the Island of California. Encircled by cliffs, headlands and rocky coasts the island lay impenetrable. The islands only metal, gold. Its only dwellers, Amazons ruled by the majestic Queen Califia for whom the island is named. Powerful, noble, strong willed, ambitious women whose tales of bravery and courage date back to the Greeks.

Accounts of this magnificent island as well as its inhabitants armed with weapons of gold enticed many Spanish Explorers to set out with ambitions of conquering the queen’s secluded land. Explorers who managed to find the illusive island were often eaten by the griffins the Amazons kept as pets. Those the griffins spared were devoured by the Amazons themselves; the only exception, Hernan Cortes. Cortes’ wit and charm captivated Califia and she allowed him to live as her companion among the mighty Amazons.
