Basilisk Archipelago (Meridian)

From YPPedia
(Redirected from Basilisk Archipelago)

The Basilisk Archipelago is located in the Meridian Ocean. The archipelago's name comes from that of a genus of small lizards of the family Corytophanidae. Basilisks, such as the green basilisk (Basiliscus plumifrons), are known to be able to run on water. In addition, a basilisk is a mythological lizard, said to be hatched from a serpent's egg by a cockerel (the opposite of a cockatrice).

The islands in this archipelago are named for various seas around the world, both prehistoric and modern.
