After a truly egg-straordinary showcase of creativity, the arrrtists have made their final picks! A huge congratulations to our "winning dozen"—these 12 eggs have cracked the competition and will be making their way into the game soon! 🎨🐣

🎁 New this year! Winners will also receive a commemorative inscribed Egg Basket trinket along with their usual prizes! 🧺✨
To all winners, you will receive two copies of your EGGSTRAORDINARY design as soon as they are in game. The first copy goes to the ocean of your entry, the second to the pirate/ocean of your choice on the same account. In addition to that, you will receive the coveted Gilded Egg trophy! If you already have th2 trophy and want to display on a different pirate, you can request to do that as long as the pirate is on the same account.
Send a petition entitled “EGG Clotho” (before March 31st with those choices. After that date, I’ll just deliver trophy and eggs to the pirate on your entry.
But wait—there’s more! Some eggs made it all the way to the final round and were so close to winning that the arrrtists wanted to give them a special shout-out and a trinket to celebrate! These designs truly stood out, and we’re recognizing their creators for their amazing work.

If your design cracks the competition, here's what you win:

Submit your eggscellent designs by Friday, February 21st, 2025, at 11:59 PM game time. Don't scramble, start designing!
Rules
- The uploaded image file name must include your pirate name and ocean; the egg's name is your choice. Example file name: EGG_2025-Clotho-Cerulean-Design_Name
- Images must be 256 x 256 pixels
- Images must be in .png format
- You can submit up to 8 designs
- Upload the flat square that will be rendered onto an egg shape, not the finished egg-shaped design. You can upload the rendered eggs as an extra, but those don't count for judging.
- The design must be your original work - you have to create the design yourself.
- References to copyrighted intellectual properties should be excluded from the entries.
- You may use reference materials for your work, but please acknowledge it in your post if you base your work substantially on that reference.
- You do not need to acknowledge any game art used as reference material.
Basic guidelines
- Wrap it up seamlessly! Your design should flow around the egg with no ugly seams. Test it first —no cracked designs, if possible!
- Test this by laying two copies of your design side by side and checking if it has an unsightly seam running down the egg.
- Please note that while we encourage artists to present seamless designs, a seam is acceptable if the egg looks good when rendered.
- If you cannot make a seamless design, no matter how hard you try, submit your entry anyway if you feel your design is good!
- Remember the shape-changing effect of putting your design around an egg. A design that looks sensible in a square template could look strange on the final egg model.
- Keep in mind that your design may be rotated for the final egg.
- The scene also burns out the details, so make the whole thing slightly darker than you would think. Slightly!
- Keep it simple. The design has to work on a relatively small object; make sure your design shines through.

Rendering!
Just like in previous years, our egg rendering will likely take place on Discord. It’s a fantastic way to bring your artwork to life and connect with fellow designers.

In this Discord channel you can post your flat designs with the following naming scheme: Yourname -Eggname # _skin.png. The # should be your version number.
