Mug decay

I've only tested the skull mug for decay. Have you tested any of the others? I know there's a forum post claiming 60 days, but I'm always skeptical of what I read there. :-) --Barrister 13:53, 30 January 2006 (PST)

Flagon was 60 days when I had it. --Pip(t|c|p) 10:02, 31 January 2006 (PST)

Template:Infobox flagblockadef

Could you set up an example in the sandbox of the template in use? I think I see the problem but I've got a grinding headache and can't think more than two steps ahead right now.--Fiddler 11:14, 13 March 2006 (PST) Done. --Pip(t|c|p) 11:19, 13 March 2006 (PST)

I think I see the problem, but I'm not clear on what your intent was. If you want all the blockade boxes to look alike (minus the first, second, third, etc..) then you made it too complicated. You really could adapt Template:Infobox flagblockade1 for generic use by the subtemplates (Template:Infobox flagblockade/1, /2, etc...) If your concern was that variables would be named the same, don't worry. Each instance of the template on a page is handled seperately; it won't matter if the variables have the same name.--Fiddler 11:31, 13 March 2006 (PST)

Ah, okay, I'll have another crack at it later. Thanks very much for helping! --Pip(t|c|p) 11:55, 13 March 2006 (PST)

Re: Warning template

Hey there- the testing and warning templates are done by adding a {{test}} tag. If it a second or repeated offense, use {{test2}}, {{test3}}, or {{test4}} for final warning. --Sagacious 10:38, 15 March 2006 (PST)

Thanks. For some reason, I couldn't find them. --Pip(t|c|p) 12:14, 15 March 2006 (PST)

Elom

Heh, it's something I've been toying with awhile. I've hosted online versions of The Mole (and a few original-concept "shows" in a similar vein) in past, so I've got a stable of tasks and challenges that I know will work, but I'm always eager to collaborate on events. I'll give you a poke when I've got more to show you... right now it's still quite nebulous and in my head instead of on paper, but I should have a more formal proposal ready by Sunday-ish. --Ponytailguy 12:34, 16 June 2006 (PDT)

links to user: pages

Ahoy! We try not to link from the main pages to the User: pages. Could I persuade you to move User:Piplicus/BoNB to a non-User: page? Thanks! --Barrister 04:27, 19 June 2006 (PDT)

Addind dates to List of golden ticket events?

Hey! Was just wondering if this could be possible... Maybe some tentative dates for the upcoming events would make it easier for people to know when to look for them in forums or know at what week is the event -as a whole- standing. Just a sugesstion. --Cecidrake 11:06, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

Thanks for yer answer Pip. Aye, I was aiming for tentative week dates... Example: Week 1: July 3 - July 9. I think that would make it more easy to access any place in the event list.--Cecidrake 22:15, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

command links

Thanks for fixing up those command links --Barrister 18:25, 9 July 2006 (PDT)

Booty or No Booty templates

I've created some templates for you to make updating the Booty or No Booty page easier. Each entry is still very long, but at least you won't have to remember the specific colors and styles necessary to make the table all pretty.

At this point the only sub-templates missing are for the various prizes. I only created Template:BoNB/Skull and Template:BoNB/Throne for the one entry I replaced. As you can see, all you need to do is fill in the correct background color for the prize levels for the remaining prizes. Leave me a message if you have any questions.--Fiddler 21:14, 7 August 2006 (PDT)

To indicate that the offered swap was acceptedor not, just type taken=Yes or taken=No. If no swap was offered, you don't need to include the taken paramater at all. This template makes heavy use of default template values, so writing it was a bit complex.--Fiddler 05:18, 8 August 2006 (PDT)
All fixed. The templates now indicate the proper prize at the end. To show that a swap was the wrong decision, add goodswap=no into the template paramaters. Otherwise leave it out.--Fiddler 14:27, 15 August 2006 (PDT)

Redirects

Ahoy! It's not necessary to redirect "brigand king" to "Brigand King". The search box will correctly find the capitalized page. And, I'd rather discourage people from linking to a redirected page. Thanks! --Barrister 22:32, 23 August 2006 (PDT)

Orange Wisp

Could you point me to the post with the image? Next time add the link to your edit summary or put it somewhere, I've been unable to find it with simple searching. --Guppymomma 14:36, 24 October 2006 (PDT)

I see it now, thanks for adding trinket image finding to the benefits of your event :) --Guppymomma 14:45, 24 October 2006 (PDT)

Ocean Templates

The templates work quite well in the game. Thank you very much, as that should ease the updates of the events considerably. However, the contrast for Ice against the background made it difficult to read. I have altered the colour to what I had been using, although it is not very icy. If you have any better suggestions while retaining the high contrast, we can certainly change it. --Bia 11:30, 25 October 2006 (PDT)

I've protected the templates that you've made because they affect the Official:Events page, so could potentially be vandalised, affecting the in game pages. Thanks! --Nicksterv 12:51, 25 October 2006 (PDT)
Would small graphics give the desired higher contrast effect? --Guppymomma 16:06, 25 October 2006 (PDT)

Welcome to adminhood!

Congrats! If you have any questions, just holler. --Guppymomma 15:48, 31 October 2006 (PST)

Recoloring individual trinkets

You asked me a bit ago about recoloring trinkets without using {{My trinkets}} (Usage). I was thinking about it in the shower this morning, and it turns out that it's really easy. We can do that now: {{Colorize trinket}} (Usage). --AtteSmythe 11:56, 1 November 2006 (PST)

Competition Trinkets

You asked for pictures of the various trinkets from previous competitions, so here's what I've got: http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/2352/curlykiddcobaltsilvercuju6.png http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/737/curlykiddhunter8thplaceiz2.png http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/9212/curlykiddmidnightcometbzp9.png http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/6923/curlykiddsagegoldcupav7.png -- Curlykidd

As discussed...

Here is the link to my writing event: http://forums.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=49585 PM me or message me on my talk page, whatever is easiest. Cheers! --Lizzie 17:17, 1 November 2006 (PST)

Fandango Familiars

Are you captain of the Fandango Familiars as they don't feature in your pirates history page at all. I found the page on a random page and fixed a couple of viewing issues. --Whitemonkey 07:29, 2 November 2006 (PST)

My Trinkets

I think I got it. We'll have to decide whether it's worth loading that clear image on every display. Incidentally, this would be a good issue for a user-space sandbox - it's a tricky edit on a template that affects about 250 pages. ;) --AtteSmythe 11:58, 2 November 2006 (PST)

Booty or No Booty Box History

I created a Box History table, and was wondering what you think about it, and if you'd add it to the list of BoNB pages. It is here: User:Tyman_101/BoNB_Box_History. Tyman 101 08:36, 18 November 2006 (PST)

Just so you know, I plan to work on a couple of other things as well. Tyman 101 13:21, 18 November 2006 (PST)

BoNB Box History

User:Tyman_101/BoNB_Box_History page is done for the time being! Check it out, it now has 3 charts. Tyman 101 06:19, 2 December 2006 (PST)

New images

Your new images are already in use. :-) User:Barrister/Sandbox4 --Barrister 18:09, 24 December 2006 (PST)

So, it turns out I need two different Floor-H images. One for things that can hang on a West-facing wall, and another for South-facing. (I don't think I need one for both sides, but it'd be good to be safe. If you have some free time, these'd be really helpful. Thanks! --Barrister 13:45, 26 December 2006 (PST)
I shaved the corners off the image you made. It seems to get the job done. --Barrister 18:45, 26 December 2006 (PST)

Tcomp template

Nice work so far. I can think of a couple ways to make it expandable for future use but I'll wait to see where you end up before making suggestions. If you need any help I'll be around for the next couple hours in bot mode. --Fiddler 10:54, 28 December 2006 (PST)

A one size fits all template could work if you do two things: 1}Move the prize right next to the place 2)Create parameters for each of the following columns so that you can specify in each instance which oceans to list. Try taking a look at Template:Ocean table, it may give you an idea on how to include all the oceans on one table.
Using letter codes will look cleaner in the article but will entail creating sub-templates for each team in each competition. For example Tempate:Tcomp/a would have "Image:Icon Night Stalkers.png as the content and so on. I hope this helps.--Fiddler 11:24, 28 December 2006 (PST)

Welcome message

I noticed you use a ready welcome template. I would like to point out that in that welcome you say "followed by four tildes, ~, the key above the hash, #, key." On many keyboard the ~ is not above the #. (On my keyboard it shares the key with ¨ and ^) The plasing of signs like that depends on the country of the user. ~I just thought that for a new user that don't have a keyboard with that placing might get confused --Kinocha 13:43, 28 December 2006 (PST)

Transclusion

I noticed you moving some templates around earlier for testing. It's not entirely necessary as the wiki software can actually treat any page as a template; you need only include a colon in front of the page title inside the curly brackets. For example, to test your new island infobox earlier you could have changed an island page to read {{:User:Piplicus/Sandbox 2|...}| as opposed to the normal infobox call. Another example: {{:User:Fiddler/Sandbox/yoweb}} yields

. Hopefully this will save you some time and effort in the future.--Fiddler 19:30, 29 December 2006 (PST)

You can do {{subst::Article}} if that is what you meant :-) --Sagacious (talk) 10:26, 30 December 2006 (PST)

Image issues

I recall this happened with some other image and a few folks. We should probably keep a list of the browser & OS info for these to see if there's a pattern. Maybe on the talk page for Category:Faulty images? --Guppymomma 15:04, 14 June 2007 (PDT)

This Month's Featured Article Contest

Ahoy there. There was a recent discussion on the forums about the lack of administrator involvement with the contest I am running right now. While I don't find it necessary to have all the admins vote for the winner of the competition, I feel if 1 or 2 weighed in it might alleviate some of the apprehensions about this manner of voting. If you happen to have time and would like to cast your vote for this month's featured article winner, I would greatly appreciate it. Template_talk:Featured_article Thanks! --Muffynz 09:43, 26 June 2007 (PDT)

Heeee.

Just a random comment that I clicked on the Midnight TH Ult List link and in a sleepy state, read "Piplicus Ultimate Shrimp" and momentarily wondered when they installed seafood as a ranking. :) --Guppymomma 06:49, 14 July 2007 (PDT)

ROMS table

Hey, thx for fixing the table format. I was tossing around the idea of going to an 8x5, but I have an extra-wide monitor, and was concerned that it might be hard to read on some monitors, whereas it looked fine on my own. It looks good, though. Oh, and btw, I like your pirate infobox on your user page. I wish I was as clever and good with code. ^_^ Sashamorning 06:28, 4 December 2007 (PST)

Navimg template

I'm not sure what your goal is, but perhaps you could use the existing {{Extnavimg}} (Usage) template to accomplish them. Its primary use is in Infobox pirate, giving us the trophy and portrait image links. --Fiddler 10:19, 10 March 2008 (PDT)
