Terminology.png New Account Being Used
I am now editing the wiki under the user name Muffynz. I felt it would just simplify things to have my account name show up as my pirate name since that is what I am best known as in all mediums related to Puzzle Pirates. You can leave me a message here.

User Page Links

Ahoy! Welcome to the wiki. Just to let you know, we don't permit links from the general pages to the User: pages. Thanks! --Barrister 14:09, 27 January 2006 (PST)

Azure

Ahoy! Because all Azure crews and flags are defunct, we don't bother to label them as such. Thanks! --Barrister 01:38, 19 May 2006 (PDT)

Just out of curiosity, I see the logic that all Azure flags are considered defunct and don't need the infobox coding (defunct) to be necessary. Does this however mean they are perpetually on the outdated flag information list or is there an Azure template that exempts it from that list that I missed finding? I was working my way through the list updating flags as I went and how should an Azure flag in that situation be handled? Thanks! --Muffynz 11:07, 19 May 2006 (PDT)
That's a fair point about the "outdated" category. I'm not sure what the right answer is. Let me think about it. --Barrister 12:51, 19 May 2006 (PDT)
I'd suggest ignoring the "proper" updated on date and just sticking in the last day of Azure (as that was the last day any of that information could have changed anyways. We'll just mark October 2003 as "current" and all the Azure flags will be fine. Since the wiki wasn't in existance then, no other flags can accidentally fall into the wrong category.--Fiddler 12:57, 19 May 2006 (PDT)
Just let me know how you'd like to handle it. I was going to hit all the Viridian outdated flags tonights and can update any Azure ones I come across in the process. --Muffynz 13:04, 19 May 2006 (PDT)
Just change all the dates on Azure flags and crews to October 23, 2003. That'll take care of it.--Fiddler 13:22, 19 May 2006 (PDT)

Stubs

*Poke* Hoya there! Good work with updating those crew pages; however, one thing to keep in mind as you go through: Try to change regular {{stub}} tags to the {{crewstub}} (or {{flagstub}}, or whatever's appropriate) tags instead. Keep up the good work. :) --Emufarmers 21:23, 22 May 2006 (PDT)

Category Tags

Please do not remove the category tags from the crew/flag pages. They're used to sort the pages alphabetically in the Category pages. --Barrister 02:11, 25 May 2006 (PDT)

Ooops. My apologies. I thought those were used before the infobox template came into existance and they were just left over. Will keep that in mind. Thanks! --Muffynz 10:03, 25 May 2006 (PDT)

Gem running

Ahoy! Great article on gem running. Just a couple of notes. I've renamed it to use lowercase only. Also, the use of "Previous Contributors" on a talk page only applies to pages brought over from the unofficial wiki. New pages, like yours, don't need it. --Barrister 01:39, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

Thanks! I am still getting used to all the ins and outs of wiki editing and creation. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it sometime. I've got 2 more original pages on my list to write and I'll be sure to watch out for some of the things that you edited on my gem running page and fix them preemptively. Thanks for all your help Barrister. --Muffynz 01:55, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

Crew/Flag links

Ahoy! Please do not de-link crews from the "member crews" infobox sections, nor de-link flags from the "allies" section. We want those to be links, even if the page does not exist. --Barrister 15:47, 4 June 2006 (PDT)

Ick, my OCD for cleanliness does me in again. Good to know though, thanks. I'll re-link them on my next update pass. --Muffynz 16:09, 4 June 2006 (PDT)
Done and re-added all the links back. Hope that didn't cause too much trouble. --Muffynz 19:36, 4 June 2006 (PDT)

Midnight Building Images

Ahoy there! I'm currently working my way through Midnight uploading a .PNG image and ensuring an updated infobox and brief history for every shoppe and bazaar on the ocean. (You can see my progress here if you'd like.) I'm just making sure that this sudden influx of so many building images won't tax the wiki servers too much or cause things to start smoking and exploding. Always good to know before I cause something to crash ;). --Muffynz 16:13, 6 June 2006 (PDT)

It's fine. One suggestion, make sure you get enough of a border around the edges of the image. It looks like some of yours are cropped pretty close. Not a big deal, but just a suggestion. --Barrister 16:48, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
Aye, I was trying to get the size smaller so it doesn't cap the 153kb limit and then it occured to me I should just use Adobe to zoom out a tad. (I'm slow with the obvious sometimes.) I'll be re-uploading the closely cropped ones soon with better images. --Muffynz 19:59, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
Ignore the cap. --Guppymomma 20:12, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
Agreed. The 153kb limit isn't all that important. Zooming will affect the image quality, so please don't do that. --Barrister 20:16, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
Alrighty, marked and noted. Thanks for all the help. --Muffynz 20:26, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
I modified the message that comes up to reflect that it's OK to ignore the cap in most cases. Just in case it confuses anyone else. --Thunderbird 20:48, 6 June 2006 (PDT)

Barnstar

For your continuing efforts in infoboxing and updating crew and flag pages, your creation of many shoppe pages (with details), and your cautiousness and willingness to seek help (specifically, here), I hereby bestow upon you this insignia of cheesy, piratey goodness. Wear it with pride. --Emufarmers 21:58, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

Behold the power of cheese.
Squeeee! For me? --Muffynz 22:33, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

Original Owners of Jorvik

Just curious, is there some reason you're using the phrase "original owners of Jorvik" without indicating that it was the Looterati? --Barrister 23:47, 10 June 2006 (PDT)

This crossed my mind to be more specific regarding who I'm refering too and I think I decided while sleeping that I do want to change it. I just put my first 5 down in that format last night and was going to tweak them and finalize a standard format and wording I like before doing the rest. --Muffynz 06:06, 11 June 2006 (PDT)
Changed it to include the Loots by name, I think the wording sounds fluid enough to work with my OCD. Feel free to change it if you think it should be different. Also, think you could check the page on Brewburg? That's the only explanation I could come up with for the name as I'm not familiar with any Norse or literature references associated with that. --Muffynz 06:10, 11 June 2006 (PDT)
Hi, I'm an idiot! I failed to notice that you mentioned Looterati in the first sentence. So, now there's two mentions of the flag, which is overkill. Sorry. :-/ As for Brewburg, what's there looks fine for now. I'll poke around and see if I can get a more specific reference. --Barrister 13:58, 11 June 2006 (PDT)
I always just thought alcohol counted as a sub-theme used on Jorvik - Brewberg, Canterbury Ales etc. Featherfin 14:09, 11 June 2006 (PDT)

sub-pages

Generally, I prefer to have people create tutorials that can be shared amongst everyone, not just their own crew. If there are crew-specific policies that require lengthy explanation, I don't really think those belong on the wiki. Nevertheless, that's just a personal opinion. In some respects, I'd kind of have to see what you're referring to. --Barrister 16:21, 28 June 2006 (PDT)

Re:Building pictures

The building template auto-thumbnails the image. There is no way to go outside the naming scheme for the building images. In order to move them, simply save them, then upload them under the correct name. Then simply mark the old one for deletion. --Thunderbird 00:11, 4 July 2006 (PDT)

Disambig pages

Ahoy! Just a note, we like to be specific when creating disambig pages. I modified Valhalla to be more in line with what is preferred, for future reference. --Thunderbird 21:41, 28 July 2006 (PDT)
