Some of the more coveted objects in the Puzzle Pirates world are trinkets. Certain trinkets are very rare and others very common. Making the more rare ones a goal to work towards. Possibly the rarest being an Ocean Master doll, awarded only under truly deserving circumstances and held by a lucky few. Other more common trinkets are ones that can be purchased at the palace shoppe. Of course the more expensive of those can be pretty sparse on the oceans as well. And ones that every battle navigator hopes to win, especially when the battle begins, a Brigand King reward. If the crew is successful in defeating the Brigand King, then they are rewarded with a trinket. For example Admiral Finius may give you a fish eye lens monocle for his release.

Trinkets can be displayed on your booty panel so that when another pirate brings up your radial menu there is a new option: Inspect Trinket. This brings up a window with the currently on display trinket. If the trinket has an inscription it will be displayed if you hover your mouse over it. Some trinkets come with inscriptions such as Brigand King rewards and skulls. Others, such as greeting cards, have their inscription written by the buyer (or anyone else if there isn't an inscription already) up too 100 characters long. And if you have more than one, the excess can be stored in a display case. And if these modes of display do not satisfy your vanity, most trinkets can be held in portraits.

Trinkets can be obtained from events and tournaments, buying them from the palace shoppe, defeating a Brigand King, defeating a skeleton invasion and there may be some special once-off trinkets being rewarded on special occasions.
