Game concept
A sliding-panel game, much like Chuzzle, where the point is to connect single pieces of a whole item together.
Objective
On grid of 7 rows, and 8 columns, are random single pieces. The object is to connect the single pieces together with pairs to make a whole item. Example: A leg is a single piece, and a wooden back is a single piece. Slide the wooden back onto two legs and you have made a table.
Gameplay
Each row can be moved left or right, and each column can be moved up or down. Also, each individual grid piece can be rotated. The player is to slide the rows or columns to connect single pieces together to make a finished product. For example, two curved pieces would go together side-by-side to make a barrel. As the game progresses, the wood material pieces begin to rot, earning less points if used to complete an item. As such, metal will rust, plastic will decay, and cloth will rip.
Scoring
Completing 2 to 3 piece items earns a low score, while creating items with more pieces, or creating two items by only moving one panel, earns higher scores.
Variability
Performing well earns a random piece with gold lining. A gold lining piece, matched up with other piece(s) to make an item, earns double points. Performing excellently earns a fancy design. A fancy design can be used as any single piece to complete any item. Also, if the player stalls, the clamp(not part of gameplay; a background game effector) holding the grid of pieces will begin to snap the wood that the grid is displayed on. If the player waits for 20 seconds without completing an item, the clamp will snap a random piece off of the board, creating a black piece, which cannot be used to make any item.
End criteria
After making 20 pieces of furniture, the game ends.
Difficulty scaling
At first, the layer can only work with wood pieces. Then as the difficulty increases, more materials become available: metal, cloth, and plastic.
Crafting type
Furnishing.
Known problems
Lack of moves with increasing difficulty
