Ellalo
History
In 2007 it started with a pirate named Erickmaarten. He showed Puzzle Pirates to a friend. That friend made an account Banggunner on Sage. His twin brother wanted to play the game too and also created a pirate Banggummer. They joined a crew: The Red Tartan Privateers. They became fleet officers in this crew.
In these days of glory and fame, the "Bangs" were known in the crew. They were good swordfighters, and in swordfighting 2vs2 super deadly. However, due some trouble in crew they were demotivated to play any longer. But, they had made an oath to the captain, Mpsred, that they were loyal to her for in eternity. The "Bangs" played about 6 months.
In 2009 they wanted to play again. So they made a new pirate Ellalo and Allalo. The first encounter with a pirate was Aardappel. Ellalo joined the crew he was in, but left the following week.
Ellalo moves to an new crew: Invaders Of The Night, created by Aardappel and Madae. Aardappel and Madae became dormant and there was no reason to stay in that crew.
By coincidence, Ellalo met Miloux the leader of the crew: Red Circle of Fire. The twins joined the crew in less then 1 day as a senior officer. After about 3 months they became lord in Dark Flame of Passion, because there good efforts in the crew. After 5 months of pillaging and doing things for the crew, Ellalo became prince in the flag.
On 27 nov. Ellalo started his first Atlantis on a War Brig, sunk 25light triketos, and after that himself.
With a couple of more crew switches Ellalo finnaly settled to join the Smelly Smugglers in the Black Flag with a captain who learned him all the tricks: Wister.
However end summer 2011 Ellalo became inactive for landlubber reasons and pirate college. When he started playing again end summer 2012 the crew of wister went dormat. So Ellalo turned to the biggest crew active in the current flag: Privateers.
How the twins think about Puzzle Pirates
Ellalo thinks the following:
- He likes that everyone is fair in Puzzle Pirates, and doesn't like swindlers. Actually, he hates them.
- Swordfighting is like being in heaven.
- Rewards for hard work, and punishment for lazing or cheating.
Tips
Warning! These tips are based on game experience, and aren't proved to be the only and absolute truth!
- The way to become a higher rank in a crew is, getting all piracy skills on broad. Do this with the navy, and not by asking on pillages if one can Battle Navigate. The goal of this is: that pirates know which puzzles that they can do well and want to train more. And to find out what the most fun game is. (*Note: Try to do crafting (and parlor) games on the free days. If a pirate can get good scores they might buy themselves a labor badge).
- Try to save up for an boat. Not a sloop, because a pirate must start saving up all over again, if they want a bigger boat next. Try to go for a dhow or a cutter right away.
- Never give out passwords and account names. Players might forget that sometimes when receiving an e-mail stating that they will be banned in 48 hours (Puzzle Pirates never takes this sort of action) unless they give their password, account name and ocean. If players think that someone is trying to swindle them, they should just send an message to the OM with the option 'help' in Puzzle Pirates.
- For SF (swordfighting): Dont take the falchion because everyone sais its the best sword. Try to find the sword that suits you! That will make you a LOTS stronger. It is because everyone has his own playing style. For instance Ellalo likes the scimitar, while Allalo is the best with saber.
- For IO (imperial outposts): You should start on this format, non sinking small. With you attacking on a baglhah or junk. If you trained that a lot you can start trying do small sinking too. For Ellalo this works good. Always keep in mind that those small IO are sloops and medium are War Brig. And those are VERY hard to sink.
- 2nd IO tip. Most people think they are waste of money, but they can be money machines if they are used the good way. The following example is the way Ellalo does them himself: Take out baghlah, and take 1 good gunner and 4/5 more jobbers for stations (not to much bilge). Swabbies can fill up a balance. If your known with the IO bnav, you should try to get about 10 small sinking Io maps of fortified or (if not possible) established form. For the fortified ones you get like 18to20K booty. So if you sink the sloops fast, you can do them in short period. What can give you 150K booty for just 6/7jobbers. And as it only req. a good gunner and isnt elite at all; Thats good poe for everyone.
- For doing sinking stuff in general: NEVER ever put your ship at risk, if you know that you cant affort a new one. That would be a waste of your hard work. If its your 1st time, or 2nd, or even 10th time; most of the people sink (including Ellalo).
Ellalo is willing to help pirates, if they have questions anytime, except when he is running a pillage. Pirates who want to join his crew can always ask.
