For adding a pirate category to someone, how much are they needed to play an ocean before it should be added? For example, I particpated in the solo sloop blockade on Cobalt for a Familar, but that has really been my only activity on that ocean, but I helped Hydrophobia win Nevermore.... So would that mean a Cobalt link would be needed or not? I also play on Ice in a limited role and I am the Monarch of a top 10 flag, would that also mean I need a link for there? In the end I guess I can also link to sage since I also have a pirate there too..... -Jacktheblack 01:04, 9 February 2006 (PST)

I signed up to reserve my name on all oceans, but I only put the category tag for the ocean on which I actually play. I've debated both ways of doing it, but decided to only do public, known, actively-linked pirates. Most YPPedia entries will be made by players other than the one controlling the characters. As those players are unable to determine whether same-name pirates are played by the same player or not, for consistency's sake, I only put categories on pirates that are openly, actively played by the same player. In your case, I'd personally put the Midnight and Ice tags on it. Had you actually won the Cobalt familiar, I'd put the Cobalt tag on it too, but not just for participation. That's just my PoV, though. It's ultimately a judgment call. I suppose the other way of saying it is that I put the category tag up for an ocean if the pirate, on that ocean, would fulfil the vanity guidelines on his or her own. Yeah, that's better. --AtteSmythe 12:39, 9 February 2006 (PST)
So is this how we do things; that is, the category tag only applies for oceans the pirate would qualify as notable on? I just saw this and wasn't sure, because it does seem like the approach has varied at other points. --Emufarmers 17:59, 28 May 2006 (PDT)
Heh. Yeah, I'm with Atte's explanation, which is partially why I removed the other categories. The other reason being that he's only a pirate on the only ocean he even qualifies on. However, if we implement the current planned content requirements, pages such as that will go away. I still believe that you should qualify on an ocean to have the category listed, and it is why I only have two categories on my page, and not the, um, six? I could really claim. This is something that has been debated quite a bit, with little consensus. --Fannon 18:10, 28 May 2006 (PDT)

Logon Button

I think we should have a new category to start a Wiki petition. Category: Pirates_who_want_to_see_a_larger_Logon_button. That's all.  :) --Redbeardsage 17:11, 20 April 2006 (PDT)

I think "logon" would be lowercase, according to what was decided regarding capitalization. :D --Emufarmers 17:22, 20 April 2006 (PDT)
