Copyright issues
I went to the site referenced. They provide instructions for proper crediting. Those instructions require crediting a different site and prohibit alterations to the images. Further, I could only find the Skull and Bones flag. I could not find the St. Pierre and Michelon flag. I found a Saint-Pierre and Miquelon flag, but that doesn't look like the flag on this page. --Barrister 17:33, 26 January 2007 (PST)

- I'm not being funny, but wouldn't it be a better and easier idea just to get an original piece of art to be made...ask around on the forums I'm sure someone with spare artistic skills will happily create one, perhaps for a small fee. - Nope. I fired off an email to the owner of the website. We'll see what happens. Worst case scenario I'll replace the ship with the design on Wikipedia, and the jolly roger with one from openclipart. I just liked Leroy's Grand Hermine better. This is no longer the flag of Saint Pierre et Miquelon, and it is not being represented as such, so I have no concern to retain the copyright. As far as FOTW is concerned, you are free to use this different flag image as you see fit.

- Thank you for clarifying. I appreciate you explaining what's going on. That being said, Rob Raeside isn't the creator of the flags. As you cited, two others actually created the images. Also, the FOTW website clearly reads, "do not alter in any way the images". Sadly, we have no way of verifying if the two creators have authorized Mr. Raeside to grant the permission to modify the image. I'm sorry to be so strict about this, but copyright issues are a serious concern. If you can find the original creators and get their permission directly, that would alleviate my concerns. I realize, however, that they may be difficult to track down. (Also, and I'm nitpicking here, you still didn't cite the FOTW website correctly.
