Note about the Changes I made to the Article about Nasty Drunks
Ahoy mate. First off since your contributions started today let me be the first mate to welcome you to the wiki. I'm not sure how much experience you have had with wikis but I was impressed with your initial contributions here. You found all the right sample pages and made a good start of things from what I can tell. :-D
I did want to take a moment and let you know about the changes I made the the article for Nasty Drunks out of courtesy. I took what you had started and cleaned it up a bit and implemented some formatting to make it a bit easier to read. Mostly I took what you had entered and added a bunch of subsections. The biggest changes I made was to delete the crews member statistics as those are incredibly hard to keep up to date. In fact by the time I edited it the crew had dropped from 196 active members to 195. As such, typically we don't keep a running count of of crew statitcs, current fame ranking or current crew ranks since that can change daily and is all available on the crew game page, which I conviniently linked in to the wiki article for your crew. ;-) The other bid change I made was to the SO list for the crew. I removed all the dead links as we don't put links in such lists for pirates that do not have pages set up. In addition I removed the FO list as it doesn't display in the Infobox. There is a method to add Fleet Officers via a supplimental infobox but I can't lay my finger on an example. I'll come back and link it in for you if I find it.
Take care mate and good luck in writing other wiki articles. --Kgarrett1969 08:06, 16 August 2007 (PDT)
- Thank ye mate. My experience with Wiki's started at ye olde Wikipedia however YPPedia seems a lot different, for about 5 months on Wikipedia I only just discovered Infoboxes, for example. I'm not too quick with the Infoboxes on here, and thanks for the changes, that really helped, I will of course be un-stubbing it with the rest of the crew. Your edits are most welcome. - Your very welcome. :-) As for the crew stub template, that is still a bit of mystery even for me. I've never felt like I have been given a satisifactory answer on when they should appear and when they can be removed. The best I've been able to gather is that they are primarily to mark when a crew/flag/pirate article does not have much in the way of history. In this case that is why I stubbied it. A crew the size of Nasty Drunks that has been around for as long as it has should have more history than what I was able to piece together from cross referencing other articles. You of course would know more about the crew's history since you are in the crew and I am primarily a Viridianite and now very little about the goings on of Sage. But my YPPedia Search Fu skills are probably Grand-Master so I can usually piece together a little be of history for a crew. At any rate I would like to encourage you to expand the history of Nasty Drunks since you are a part of it and have access to the movers and shakers of the crew. --Kgarrett1969 08:48, 16 August 2007 (PDT)
- Ah yeah, by Wikipedia standards at least, it's not a Stub, it's too big. I should remove it really and with my captain I'll get a bit more about the past, yes. Damn, the auto-signings in PDT, wheres good ol' GMT? Tharjoe 08:50, 16 August 2007 (PDT)

- Oh, there was one other thing I was going to mention, the brain synapses aren't firing properly today. >.< When posting the list of SOs we also include dormant SOs as they are after all still SOs even if the controlling player hasn't loged on in over a week. I added those to the list as well. --Kgarrett1969 08:58, 16 August 2007 (PDT)
- Thanks, I didn't see any dormant SOs O.o Tharjoe 09:52, 16 August 2007 (PDT)
- I tweeked it a bit more. The standared layout for a crew page should lead off with History, Public Statement, Crew Articles & Promotion Requirements in that order followed by any other misc section. I move Recruitment to below Promotion Requirements. Also those four sections should really be == level sections and not subsections of the Public Statement so I restored Crew Articles to level ==. The crew tips section doesn't really have anything to do with Promotion per se so I also made that a level ==. All of this is done to maintain common formatting and a common 'Look and Feel' across all crew pages. And Finally you do not need to expecitly list the Crew Ocean Category as it is automatically picked up from the infobox. Part of the template puts the crew in the correct category based on the oceanname field of the template. The only time we use overrides is if a crew starts with 'A' or 'The' or has odd spelling such as all lower case or all upper case. Then we use the category override to force the crew to sort properly in the category lists. The Mission Statement is rarely used on crew pages so I think it is ok immediately following the Public Statement either as it's on == or as a subsection to the Public Statement. Perhaps one of these days we'll come to a consensus on that one. Really the only reason I tweaked the article again was to try and maintain common formatting across all crew pages which I am currently in the process of fixing. I hope all that makes sense to you. --Kgarrett1969 10:44, 16 August 2007 (PDT)
- The parts I ==== were in the actual Public Statement.Tharjoe 10:55, 16 August 2007 (PDT)
Background Ice
I rolled back the changes you made to Template:Background Ice. If you think the colors need changing, discuss it on the talk page or at YPPedia:Color and style, please don't just change a template that's used on hundreds of pages. Thanks.--Fiddler 08:06, 11 September 2007 (PDT)
- Oh ok then, just thought it blended in a bit better when used with other oceans ^^ Tharjoe 08:25, 11 September 2007 (PDT)
Crew/flag names & links
You need to use the exact same capitalization and spacing and spelling as is seen in game. I've had to correct many instances of Army of Darkness instead of Army Of Darkness for you. --Guppymomma 16:01, 19 September 2007 (PDT)
