Yarr, superb medal for me! Thank you very much :) --Piripuwa 10:03, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Your piratepage template

Ahoy, your piratepage template looks certainly interesting. But you should use it like {{subst:User:Piripuwa/Template:Infobox_POS, so the template code is expanded on the page. This allows others to change details about the page that dosn't fit into the template - furthermore pages in the main article space (that every user can edit) shouldn't depend on pages/templates in user space (that are private to the respective user). Another thing, it would be desireable to link the ocean like [[Hunter Ocean]] instead of [[Hunter]] [[Ocean]]. --Alfwyn 17:34, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Thank you to advice. I will be more careful in future. I am also going to fix the pages that include my template.--Piripuwa 17:44, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Trinket Article Templates

Your trinket article templates look pretty good. There's just a few things:

  • The grammar of the "colors" section is... out of whack. For that matter, I'm not at all certain it needs a separate section header or even a paragraph break. You've basically just said "The trinket comes in colors. It comes in these colors". With the second sentence there, the first one is a bit "well, duh". Also, some pages say "It is available in all the colors of the X Trinkets trinket palette. ". In addition, separating it out has left some of the trinkets with only a partial sentence ending the first paragraph - "First seen in release 2010-03-09." ain't a full sentence.
  • You've changed the rarity text on at least the decorative box article - that's the only one I've noticed, but there could be more.
  • The navbox templates need emboldened headers - use an exclamation mark rather than a pipe symbol to start that row. The exclamation mark makes it a header cell.
  • On a related note, the header should read "Trinkets of the Cursed Isles" (et al).
  • Be careful about use of case. When it appears in a sentence, the trinket name should be all lower-case (unless it's a proper noun). For example, "The Brass button is a trinket" should be "The brass button is a trinket". I suggest the use of the lc: keyword.
  • Possibly a minor thing, but the first sentence for most of them has the word "from" twice - as in "obtained from booty divisions from imperial outposts." Maybe "obtained in booty divisions" instead.
  • It might be an idea to set the trinket name field to default to the keyword PAGENAME
  • I'm not entirely certain as to the purpose of the little right-hand infobox. It doesn't seem to do a great deal...

Thank you for your advices. Sorry about my poor works. The templates need to be reconsidered. I will look it over again more carefully and fix. :) --Piripuwa 07:56, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
I fixed "the rarity text" on the articles I made wrong change on previous update. I also fixed the header of The navbox templates. I think that for repairing other points, I need inspections in my sandbox. I will update the templates after I finished my tests.--Piripuwa 08:50, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
I fixed almost all of above matters. But the infobox still not remove on articles of player-created trinket. I'm considering how to display the message that can be seen on the "seasonal" tab of the palace shoppe.--Piripuwa 12:10, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
I decided leave the infobox on purchasable trinket pages. I think that it is better. Also I'm planning to make a few more templates for atlantian trinkets and for purchasable trinkets on this weekend or later.--Piripuwa 14:30, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

It's about time somebody came up with this idea. When I first saw this, I was extremely glad to see it. My point is that you forgot the Scorpion Sting altogether in the CI navigation box. I do want to point out that I have seen some of the older versions, and you are doing awesome! If you do this for all the trinkets ... well ... I'd be so happy I'd be happy! You're a trinket collector's best friend.  :D ~ Jlh0605 05:41, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your advice! I added the Scorpion Sting into the CI navbox. I'm glad you like my those navigations :D --Piripuwa 12:40, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
I will try to do this for all the trinkets :)--Piripuwa 16:45, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
I agree! You're doing an awesome job! =D --Adrielle ♥ =) 12:26, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Thank you! :) --Piripuwa 12:40, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

One other point: I know this is being picky, but I'm just that way: Imperial Outpost trinkets are not given at booty division. They are given out, 1 to each eligible pirate, up to the number of defenders, as soon as the imperials are defeated. It is nearly instantaneous. Thanks again for your awesome work on the templates! Jlh0605 15:26, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks again! I fixed it :)--Piripuwa 01:03, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Again, another point. What happened to the links to the full (aka booched) template? Jlh0605 01:52, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry but please let me know what do you mean by "the full (aka booched) template"? Do you give me some examples? --Piripuwa 15:02, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Many of the trinkets have come in "booched" colors, or colors that weren't supposed to be released. As an example, you can look at this forum thread for trinkets that do not show up in the current templates: http://forums.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?p=2062675#2062675
That's only really the CI and Atlantis trinkets released on 2009-12-08. The links are still there - for example, toadstool. --Belthazar451 21:25, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Aww, thank you! :) --Piripuwa 16:12, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I read the thread and checked trinket articles again. The articles of "CI and Atlantis trinkets released on 2009-12-08" have the links. They are same as links written in older revisions :) Other trinket articles didn't have the links and currently they don't yet. (e.g., Spell scrap and it's previous revision) I also read Haunted Seas Trinkets, Imperial Outpost Trinket, New BK Trinketsand chocolate color trinkets. I couldn't find informations that should be added as a same text to almost all trinket articles x_x So, currently I don't plan to modify templates. --Piripuwa 16:12, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I guess I was looking for beaded bracelet - I have a black one to add. Jlh0605 20:42, 6 October 2010 (UTC) And, thanks for the templates and the updating! Much appreciated!
Ooo, interesting. Black CI trinkets. I have to admit I've always found it weird that only the effigy was available in black. --Belthazar451 22:34, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks again again :) I guess almost all CI trinkets have come in black, but maybe YPPedia need a little more informations in order to decide which templates/articles should be changed. When somebody want to do, they will update the templates and articles. They might include me or not :) (I'll try to do when I get the chance) --Piripuwa 15:44, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Changes to trinket images and templates

Since you just completed a major overhaul of the way trinket articles are displayed I thought you'd be interested in a couple of conversations (http://forums.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=163133 and http://forums.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=155872) we're having on the forum regarding missing trinket colors. The basic gist is that we want to normalize the color order across all trinket images and only display valid colors in the trinket articles. The changes we're discussing will almost definitely affect the Cursed Isle and Haunted Seas trinkets, among others, so I thought you should be aware. --Fiddler 15:49, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the information. As you said, I'm interested in those gist. If I can take part in them, I shall do.--Piripuwa 23:27, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
