Ahoy! Might I suggest you make use of the "Show preview" button to view the changes you make to a page without saving them? You'll find the "Show preview" button just next to the "Save page" button. It may also be an idea to slow down on the pace of edits so that other users have a chance to help you. I apologise for editing your page at the same time as you were - I hadn't realised you were still editing it - but if you give me a chance to get a figurative word in edgewise, I can help you with your trinkets. --Belthazar451 12:19, 2 May 2008 (PDT)

thank you. i am not sure if this way i am answering you. i am totally lost here.
The best way to respond to me (or anyone else who sends you a message) is to reply on the same page that the message was posted on - in this case, I posted on your user talk page, which you can find by clicking on "My messages" in the top header bar. If you want to send me a message (rather than replying to one I sent), you can do so on my own user talk page, which you can find by clicking the link to the left, or else going to my user page and clicking "Discuss this page" at the top.
As for you being totally lost, I disagree - you've been doing pretty well so far, but have been running into problems simply because the Wiki software is case sensitive. That is, "Knobby Coral" is not the same as "Knobby coral", and it's the latter wording that the Wiki is looking for. Most Wiki pages start with an initial capital, and have all lower case after that - the exception is that if the page title is a proper noun, such as Sage Ocean. Similarly, trinket and pet colours must be in lower case - "black" rather than "Black" - as that is how the template has been set up. --Belthazar451 12:55, 2 May 2008 (PDT)

Leaving messages for other users

If you wish to leave a message for another user it is best to do so on their talk page, like this one. As you obviously know, if a user receives a new message on their talk page they are alerted to it. A message on their user page, like you just left for Belthazar451 does not alert them to it. As you probably did, just click on the link for that user, and then at the top of the page there should be a tab for "discuss this page" which is that user's talk page. If you are looking for assistance with editing pages please check out YPPedia:Sample_crew_page and YPPedia:Sample_pirate_page for some examples. You might also wish to check out Category:Howto for links to some other articles that may help you out. Fair winds!

Trinket page

hello!!!:D. if u need an alternative to trinket boxes, look in my page, in edit, you'll get an idea how to do it without new trinket page. what i did was using specified width in pixels, so that they all look pretty much the same. sinzi. --Saintdiana 07:09, 5 May 2008 (PDT) (p.s. te-am gasit din intamplare, pe pag unui admin, mi-a atras atentia username-u)

Portrait updating

In order to change your pirate page's displayed protrait on YPPedia, you need to upload a new version of the file. Assuming it's Blueduck's portrait you want to update, you'll need to go to Image:Pirates-Blueduck.jpg and click the link marked "Upload a new version of this file". Download the portrait from the Yoweb space (the portrait itself, mind you, not the thumbnail) and upload it to the YPPedia using the page that just loaded. Once the uploading is done, you'll need to refresh the page - YPPedia caches the old image, so you'll need to make it reload. Hope that helps. It's basically the same as the instructions on Howto:Upload a portrait, but instead of clicking on Special:Upload, you go to where your portrait already is and upload a new version. --Belthazar451 04:50, 30 June 2008 (PDT)
