Talk:Building
From YPPedia
The building name policy looks a lot like the ship name policy ;). Out of curiosity, how would the OMs be able to tell if a building existed under a similar name? There's no /bwho or similar (apart from the fact that I think building names can't be duplicated on the same ocean). Also, the fact that it is a cut and paste (with small modifications) of the ship name policy leaves one question: Are buildings that violate the rules (such as two buildings on Viridian's Terra Island) subject to renaming? --Thunderbird 16:25, 7 March 2006 (PST)
- It is meant to be "a lot like" this ship name policy, for ease of use and to lessen confusion. There's no /bwho, but you bet your boots we get notified instantly by players when someone chooses a building name that's identical to another on the same ocean. We also tend to notice just on our own, and also when someone adds their building to YPPedia. So it isn't at all as if we have no way of knowing. The Terra Island situation is currently being dealt with, fear not. --Eurydice 16:45, 7 March 2006 (PST)
Another rule clarification
Regarding "nor should they duplicate the name of an already-existing building." There was a bit of a debate in Viridian Parley that never got an official answer that I could tell. The name El Pollo Diablo is present on 2 different islands on Viridian. Does the one that was built later (on Napi Peak) have to get renamed, or does the rule mean 2 buildings on the same island can't have the same name? --Thunderbird 21:04, 3 June 2006 (PDT)
