Jade gems were special gems on the Midnight Ocean, created for The Race to Save Christmas, celebrated on Hephaestus' Forge in December, 2004. In this event, a Grinch's ship was loaded with good supplies 'stolen' from Hephaestus' Forge. The participants could keep whatever they managed to pillage from the ship, and there was a special prize for returning the jade gems. No market buys jade gems, and they will disappear from a ship's hold like any other.

On the Cobalt and Viridian Oceans, jades are normal gems, bought at Olive Island. On the Sage Ocean, they are bought at Greenwich Island.
