History

Infierno De los Diablos is a Viridian flag, founded on March 17th 2005 by Ryanisgreat under the name of The Royal Marines. However, after a combination of trouble in game and out, Ryanisgreat felt he had to step down from the game and the monarchy of The Royal Marines.

Ryan's elder brother Antix took over command of the flag, and it was under Antix's rule that the name "The Royal Marines" was changed to Infierno De los Diablos, running the flag alongside his then wife Seadevil.

Previously being Disbanded on Febuary 12th , on June 7 2006, IDLD was re-founded by Antix with the help of Bulletproof, and other members of IDLD. It recovered from a prolonged dormancy following Antix being unbanned in Early 2008.

Blockade History

On the 30th of April, 2005, Antix , with no blockade experiance other then navigating at Olive I , decided to put his flag forward in the attempt of taking Prolix Purlieu at Prolix I. Unfortunately the lack of experiance, co-ordination, and blockade skill showed after a painful defeat at Prolix I in a 3 round sinking blockade with Scuppering Seven Seas.

Not to be deterred, on the 25th of June 2005, Antix led his flag into a daring blockade of Kirin Island; the first large island to be opened on Viridian. It was expected to be a hotly contested blockade, however there were no other contenders on the board, meaning Infierno De los Diablos was assured victory. Construction rapidly began on Kirin Island, Antix implementing a devil naming theme to compliment the flag name.

On the 17th of July, 2005, Kirin Island was attacked by Scuppering Seven Seas. Kirin II was the first blockade on Viridian to go into 5 rounds, IDLD conceeded defeat to Scuppering Seven Seas who seized control of Kirin Island.

On the 6th of August, 2005, Infierno De los Diablos won back control of Kirin Island using a tactical blockade, as Scuppering Seven Seas's forces were split between several blockades. The blockade lasted 3 rounds.

On the 28th of August, 2005, Pay for Play attacked Kirin Island and took it over in a 5 round non-sinking blockade. Infierno De los Diablos won the first two rounds, and almost the third, but failed to sustain their victories as they lost jobbing support.

Shortly afterwards, on the 3rd of September, 2005, Infierno De los Diablos attacked Viridis Island on behalf of Ancient who funded the fleet, jobbing pay, and stock. This tactic has since been rendered illegal as it is considered to be fame evasion. Infierno De los Diablos lost the 4 round blockade to the defenders, Dreaded Dream Makers.

On the 18th of September, 2005, Infierno De los Diablos attacked Harmattan Island, one week after it was colonised by Fear and Loathing led by Subliminal. Infierno wons in a 3 round blockade.

A week later on the 25th of September, 2005, Subliminal decided to re-attack. In a deal with Scupperer, Infierno De los Diablos lost the 3 round blockade deliberately. Scupperer agreed to trade Infierno De los Diablos Terra Island after Subliminal traded him Harmattan Island. During this period Antix called a truce with Subliminal by handing him back the Inn he had placed but not constructed on Harmattan Island.

Then on the 2nd of October, 2005, Antix decided to drop a chest on Tigerleaf Mountain the 3rd week after it had opened. Initially Antix tried to make the blockade an event blockade, using sloops only, but brought in 2 War Brigs during round 1. The flag then returned to sloops, losing the blockade in a 3 round blockade to the defenders, Imperial Coalition.

On the 11th of October, 2005, Scuppering Seven Seas transfered Terra Island to Infierno De los Diablos, as negotiated in the deal at Harmattan between the flags.

On January 22nd, 2006, Confusion and RiddleMakers dropped chests on Terra Island. Confusion won the first 2 rounds, Infierno De los Diablos win the next 3 rounds, meaning that they succesfully defended in a 5 round blockade and retained island ownership.

On February 12th, 2006, The Syndicate, a flag made up of former Infierno De los Diablos royals, took a small payment from Calais, a non flag member, to attack Terra Island. Antix disbanded Infierno De los Diablos hours before the blockade, as he was away all weekend after a real life emergency came up. His allies attempted to defend the island, but to no avail as Infierno De los Diablos lost Terra Island. The flag ended little under a month before its first anniversary.

On 15th March 2008, IDLD Dropped a War Chest on Napi Peak in order to capture it from the Brigand King Flag , Jinx. This was the first blockade following the Flags Rebirth. Sea Wrath also dropped a Chest shortly after. Jinx amassed full force and eventually won the first three rounds thus making the attack unsuccessful.

Antix's Final thoughts (at the end of the old IDLD)

"We had fun in IDLD, we had ups and downs, and got up from a number of failed blockades, we were a great force on Viridian, created some fun. I enjoyed most of the people I met and worked with within IDLD, though I have lost alot of respect for certain royals who helped end the flag after a long serve under IDLD. I am forever in my royals debt, and will do anything for them at any time. Thanks to everyone who made me and IDLD work."

Rebirth (Early 2008) :

In Early 2008, following Antix being unbanned, the flag was reborn after a long duration of dormancy, with Antix being established as Monarch. The founding crew was Rockstars. In addition, the Flag in a short period rallied a large number of crews including Yankaraon, Suicide King, Resistance is Futile and The North Star under its name. The Flag lives to this day as a highly active and prominent one.

Miscellaneous

On the 17th of March, 2006, Antix and several former Infierno De los Diablos royals gathered together to commision a portrait as a memorial to the flag. [1]
