Acanthaster Spits is a medium island located in the Gila Archipelago. There are two known routes from the island: Cinnabarite Island, and an inter-archipelago route to Tasman Reef in the Basilisk Archipelago.

History

An inscription on a rock to the north west reads, "This island were fashioned by Artemis."

Acanthaster Spits is named after the starfish genus acanthaster, which includes the Crown-of-Thorns Starfish. This is probably the most well-known species, and notorious for its coral-eating destructiveness. They are especially rife in Australia's Great Barrier Reef. The starfish's long spines release a neurotoxin if touched or stepped on, which can cause intense pain for several hours, nausea, vomiting, and swelling.

Blockade history

On November 26th, Azarbad the Great took control of the island as part of its opening for colonization.

Acanthaster I 2011-12-03: Fill in the Blank,Sick Man's Dream and Argosy attempted to colonize the island and failed, leaving the island in the hands of the Brigand King flag The All-Consuming Flame in a three-round sinking blockade.

Acanthaster II 2011-12-10: Sick Man's Dream defeated The All-Consuming Flame, as well as Fill in the Blank and Argosy in a four-round sinking blockade. The BK was sunk in the first round, Argosy won the 2nd and Fill in the Blank pulled out in the 3rd.
