Addison (talk • contribs) – I'm just looking for temporary adminship, all I want to do is entirely eliminate all of the files in the Misnamed images category and occasionally drop in to do admin chores. I'd suggest you look here for my recent wiki-related activity. I haven't been around much here, so if the YPPedia community is uncomfortable with "that crazy Addihockey" having the mop, I'm okay with it. I hope that you're comfortable with me uploading and deleting those files, if not, I'd be happy to do it the previous way I've been doing it. Thank you. 2. I support. Though I'm not too sure about deleting the files, I can see that tracking down what they *should* have been named might be difficult or impossible sometimes. Oppose

1. I'm afraid I must also vote to (mildly) oppose. Although it's been a while since most of the incidents, Addison has been warned several times about errors in judgment repeatedly (and was even blocked for a week back in October 2008). I'm afraid that Addison does not (yet) have the temperament and judgment to be granted administrator privileges. (As an aside, I had to place my vote ahead of Fiddler's because Addison's reply broke the numbering.) --Barrister 17:10, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
2. I'm going to oppose, but only mildly. While the intentions might be good, I prefer not to delete and re-upload misnamed images (except for pirate, crew, or flag portraits) and would rather that the proper name be included in the template. Then later on, when we have upgraded to Mediawiki 1.14 or beyond, we can simply rename the file and preserve the file history, including the original uploader (typically the artist). --Fiddler 14:58, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey there Fiddler :) I`d just like to say that under more consideration, I might drop by a couple times and do other admin chores such as deletion of old revisions of images etc. But about the misnamed images - I can see what you mean by wanting the revision history and simply ``moving`` the image. However, I have heard this about a year ago and the misnamed images just seem to keep piling up and I believe if we don`t tackle it now it might be a little bit overwhelming once we actually update to Mediawiki 1.14 (or beyond for that matter) so in my opinion I think we should take care of at least some of the images in the misnamed images category. 1. I have seen many of Addison's edits and I am glad to have someone who is actively doing what Addison is doing. I do not see any problems in his edits, nor do I have any problems with how he does them. For this reason, I would support the nomination. However, I also have to question the intent - I agree that much cleanup is needed that does require adminship, but, to me, an admin should be willing to do a lot more than simply cleanup. For this reason, I would oppose the nomination. The end result is that I end up officially voting neutral. ~ Jlh0605 18:43, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)

A. Just fixing up the Misnamed images category, occasionally dropping by for the admin chores, I will not be dropping by too often as my schoolwork and job will become much greater during this year. However, if the time comes up during exams that I have free time, I probably might be popping up YPPedia at that time.

2. Of your articles or contributions to YPPedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?

A. To be honest, I haven't done much except for the flag, crew or pirate page creation department, I've experimented with some templates briefly but haven't gone too far into it. I've moved on to Wikipedia for the past recent months, and most of those contributions are vandalism reverting and the occasional username report.
