Xeni/Trophies

Ahoy, I just stopped by because I saw Xeni/Trophies. According to YPPedia Policy, Trophies are not allowed on Pirate pages, it is likely it will soon be deleted. I am refering to Number 1 on YPPedia:Policies and guidelines#Individual Pirate Articles. Happy Editing, --Lcawte 12:23, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Image tags

Ahoy! When you upload images, make sure you use the correct image tag. For building images, the one you want is {{scene image}} (Usage). Simply add "{{scene image}}" (without the speech marks) in the description field when you upload the first time. Fair winds! --Belthazar451 21:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

You have no idea how long I was looking for the tag page >.> thanks bel! I'll go back and edit all now ^^ p.s. log onto viridian more so I can ask you these questions? and hugs!--Jelvik 21:47, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
You can move pages rather than deleting and re-creating - the move button is at the top, near the edit button. Also, piped links don't work in the "name" field of the building infobox template. It's unneccesary in this case, though, as building images are automatically disambiguated by ocean (though not by island). --Belthazar451 22:26, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Does the "move" change the name? To be honest, not sure how to move or delete or rename... just fumbling along here, learning more with each mistake! What do you suggest if there are 2 shoppes with the same name on different islands? How do I differentiate those? And thanks for putting up with me ^_^--Jelvik 22:29, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
For instance, how do I fix Building-Viridian-The_Grim_Weaver.png to be Building-Viridian-The Grim Weaver.png so the weavery page has the right image displayed? --Jelvik 22:34, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Like so. =) You may, incidentally, want to consider making some of your images a bit wider - the infobox makes them 250px wide, and if they're narrower than that, it has to stretch them to fit. It's not vitally important, just a suggestion. To answer your other questions, yes moving a page renames it, because it's moving the page to a new name location. As for disambiguation:
  • For two shops with the same name but different oceans, you simply use the Name (Ocean) disambig format - we have templates that do all the piping automatically for oceans - for example {{Viridian}} (Usage).
  • For the same name on different islands of the same ocean, your best bet is Name (Island name). There's no automatic template for this, but I created {{dl}} (Usage) a while ago, and I'm still trying to get people to use it. =Þ For the infoboxes themselves, you'll need to include the disambiguation term for at least one of them in order that both buildings don't share the same image. That's currently the only option - we may figure out a better way in future, but for the time being, let's stick with that.
  • If you encounter a situation with the same-named building on a different ocean AND a different island on the same ocean, just call it Name (Island name). --Belthazar451 22:45, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Renamed Buildings

For the future, in case of a renamed building it would be better to move the old page to the new name instead of creating a new article. This keeps the edit history in place. But thank you for taking care of updating some building information. --Alfwyn 12:46, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Yep, Adrielle showed me the move button earlier. Been doing it since then! --Jelvik 14:04, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
As opposed to when I showed it to you last year, further up on this very talk page? =P --Belthazar451 21:06, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Umm... *blushes really badly* Belthazar!! I forgot okay? I hadn't done anything for most of the last year via buildings and I just started editing today again because a hearty built a new building on Labby so I figured why not add it real quick. And then I got stuck updating them all... Forgive me for screwing things up once more!!--Jelvik 21:08, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
